corradlo 0 Posted June 22, 2012 (edited) Hi guys, can any body help to tell me what this is, and does it have to be bolted to rocker, can i move it... thanks! Edited June 22, 2012 by corradlo
seanl82 23 Posted June 22, 2012 Rad fan after run switch. Don't see why you couldn't move it tbh. Just don't hide it in a corner somewhere, as its obviously temperature related therefore decent exposure to engine bay temps is the idea.
corradlo 0 Posted June 23, 2012 That makes sense! I just had the rocker cover powder coated and when I have fired the car up, the fan does not kick in! Could this be a faulty sensor, or would the powder coat have something to do with it?
seanl82 23 Posted June 23, 2012 If you take off the spade connector, and touch the rocker cover with it, if the fan doesn't run that should tell you. Then touch the lifting point right next to it, and it should run. The switch is obviously open circuit until it gets to temp (100 degs iirc) at which point it makes and earths on block obviously. Powdercoating has obviously interrupted it touching bare metal so I reckon thats your problem mate. :thumbleft:
