BILLCOR 1 Posted October 15, 2012 As above, I'm after a fully working sunroof motor, as mine only works on tilt 95' model Thanks Fitting a new motor will probably not cure the problem, its more likely to be a snapped cable, passenger side I would suspect

XM4RTYX 10 Posted October 16, 2012 What do you mean haha? Fancy seeing you on here anyway! Haha! Think it could be motor though! As it does work on tilt, and it does go back so far too, but then gives up! Also it goes all the way back and closes no problem, when doing it manually! So don't think it's wires/cables
16v_alan 0 Posted October 16, 2012 yea same symptoms as mine...turned out to be a tired motor managed to nab one off a mk3 at the scrappies best rule that out before stripping the headlinning etc etc..
Kevin Bacon 5 Posted October 16, 2012 Remember to resynchronise your motors before refitting them to the sunroof folks. 1) Leave the roof in it's closed position 2) Connect replacement motor to the loom 3) get out of car and operate the full closure 4) observe the motor turn then stop 5) Motor is now happy where up, down, back and forward are and refit to the sunroof. If you don't do this, the motor will basically keep going when you slide it back until it crunches into something, or won't tilt properly, won't close properly etc etc.
XM4RTYX 10 Posted October 16, 2012 Thanks for that Alan and Kevin! Full closure no long works off fob, as I had to disconnect the alarm and awaiting a new one, but is it ok to do it by the key in the door lock Kevin? Thanks
