Leather Interiors

Recommended Posts

One thing I'd like to improve with my C is the leather interior.

I do love leather seats but these are showing their age and are looking tired and wrinkled.

Ideally I'd like complete electric Recaro heated leather - but these are rare as hell.

One thing I was considering was fitting something like Audi TT front seats and rear bench - these come up now and again at breakers.

Does anyone know how easily (or not) these could be fitted?

Depends what subframes the Audi seats use, probably MK4 ones which are different to MK2 Golf/Corrado ones. Corrado seats are really low aswell, which is something else you'd need to consider but if you can fudge on a Corrado subframe on to an Audi seat, you're laughing.

Not sure about the rear seats, probably just a case of fitting the Audi material and bolsters over the Corrado rear frames.

Anything's possible, you just need the time to do it!

I have spoken to MJ Interiors about welding Corrado subframes onto TT seats for my Mk2 Golf and he says they can be done as the TT subframe is a similar bolted/welded frame to the Mk2/Mk3 Golfs. The Mk4's are totally different as their runners have integral wheels which makes it difficult to modify.

Give them a call, asI have seen these seats in plenty of Mk1/Mk2s/Corrados in the German VW mags.

HTH :D

Here's a happy ending.......

Just part-exchanged my leather interior for full black leather Recaro interior with heated and electic front seats!! :D

I did the deal with Simon at CMS in Derby who I can fully recommend btw.

However, now I need some technical help. :?

Please see "Fitting heated/electric Recaros" under "Inside your Interior".

Thanks.
