captainredeye 0 Posted November 8, 2012 When easing off the clutch in 1st or second when the clutch engages it feels very sudden with a big clunking sound, not sure but it also seems like there's a little movement in the gearbox mount as I can feel it reverberate through the clutch pedal. The clutch was replaced 2 years ago and the gearbox mount last year. Any ideas?

captainredeye 0 Posted November 16, 2012 Found the bolt to the front mount was only hand tight. It would only turn little more but is now tight the clucking has improved but still feels like there is slight movement when engaging the clutch. May get all 3 mounts replaced see if that cures it. CazzaVR 0 Posted November 17, 2012 Found the bolt to the front mount was only hand tight. It would only turn little more but is now tight the clucking has improved but still feels like there is slight movement when engaging the clutch. Just get rid of the chicken  Sounds like mounts. Gonna be checking mine today as there seems to be a lot of engine movement. They're all new (last few months)- suspect they may be loose.
captainredeye 0 Posted November 17, 2012 I guess it's worn mounts and really all it takes is little movement to mess things up replaced all the exhaust hangers yesterday to cure a slight knocking and found that is hitting part of the car when The revs go up. Would of thought the car would treat me better considering all the engine love it's getting in the new year.
captainredeye 0 Posted November 28, 2012 Thought I would give a little update to tie this up, turns out the 6 bolts attaching drive shaft to the gearbox were loose and 1 had snapped. Bolts replaced and loctited and the clutch and power delivery feels a lot tighter and responsive. There was no chickens found by the mechanic but a fair few feathers from a pigeon I had hit.
