TanVr6 0 Posted November 23, 2012 Hi guys Can anyone recommend a diagnostic tool for the Corrado, and will I be able to use it on my Audi A4 Y Reg.. I need to check the faults and reset them too. Preferably not too expensive n easy to use. Thanks guys Tan
seanl82 23 Posted November 23, 2012 An ebay obd2 lead with vagcom light will give u a reasonable amount of diagnostics, although some are a pain to connect from what Ive heard. I had an orange handheld u281 code reader when I had my Golf, and it was invaluable. Only about £22 on ebay too.
Supercharged 2 Posted November 23, 2012 Those handheld things can be useful but VAGCOM is far more in depth and futureproof
MarkFoster 0 Posted November 23, 2012 Agree with Supercharged, it's expensive but reassuringly so. Now called VCDS by the way rather than Vagcom for some copyright BS reasons apparently.... Mark
Kevin Bacon 5 Posted November 23, 2012 Yeah I forked out for this fella ages ago - http://store.ross-tech.com/shop/VCHUC.html It's scanned several different VAGs of all ages with no issues!

TanVr6 0 Posted November 24, 2012 Bit expensive for the full version Can you get one from Gsf ? The light version? ---------- Post added at 3:31 AM ---------- Previous post was at 3:30 AM ---------- Or am I better off getting one of the obd2 tools off eBay? nrc 0 Posted November 24, 2012 The cheapo cables on ebay do work (in my experience) and you can use the free version of VCDS Lite to check and reset fault codes and read measuring blocks. You'll have to register (about £60?) for the more advance functions like basic settings.
tonytiger 0 Posted November 24, 2012 If you plan on keeping the corrado for a while, and you're going to use it on an audi too, then I'd say it's well worth the investment in the full VCDS.
