owen g60 10 Posted December 7, 2012 A lot of the work is either elbow grease to polish parts up, or custom made covers to suit different people's taste.
destructiv dave 0 Posted December 8, 2012 I've seen plenty of photos on the forum where people have really nice engine bays e.g. black or silver and shiney covers with lots of sparkle! how can i acheive that - i cant find any info anywhere? thx I would recommend setting aside a few hours, go into Members Gallery, and read some build threads from start to finish. This should give you some inspiration and help you understand what steps people have taken to tidy their engine bays up. I can't think of any galleries off hand that show the engine bay of a 2l16v (as yours is), but a general read will help you understand what little touches you can introduce from changing the slam panel bolts to stainless to powder coating or polishing your inlet manifold all the way through to hiding the wiring loom in the chassis legs. Quite a few people also link their build threads in their signature (although I wouldn't recommend clicking on mine).
BILLCOR 1 Posted December 8, 2012 Have a look in here >> http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?45049-Show-us-your-engine-bay!&highlight=show+engine+bay If you see something you like, you can then have a look in the relevant members gallery and you may or may not see how it was done
daves16v 1 Posted December 8, 2012 Take a look at my VR members thread here - http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?48656-Black-Metallic-VR-288-brakes Most of the parts are for the VR but there are some that are shared with other models. I can supply some parts for your 16v - 1) Rad brackets - http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?56303-Polished-Stainless-Radiator-Brackets 2) Front panel screws - http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?72529-Stainless-Steel-Front-(slam)-Panel-and-Headlight-Screw-Kit-others&highlight=front+panel+screws 3) Stainless vacuum pipe 4) Vac pipe brackets 5) Throttle bracket 6) Stainless bonnet catch washers I thought I had photos of the other parts but can't lay my hands on them right now. This one is sweet - http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?41918-samthegrams-2ltr-16v-now-180bhp!!&highlight=polished
Jim 2 Posted December 8, 2012 Elbow grease, degreaser, trim dressing, being willing to replace various parts, and possibly strip / powdercoat / paint other parts is pretty much what you need!
