Portent 0 Posted January 19, 2013 (edited) Maybe I'm late to the party but I never realised that Classic Parts sold so much for the Corrado now. Or is it only recent? Some examples: Inner door sills: http://www.etkashop.com/vwcp/Scirocco-Corrado/Corrado/Karosserie/Innenausstattung/Einstiegsleiste.html Heated seat mats: http://www.etkashop.com/vwcp/Scirocco-Corrado/Corrado/Karosserie/Innenausstattung/Sitz-Heizelement.html (are there meant to be two per seat and is this the base or back?) Mirror glass: http://www.etkashop.com/vwcp/Scirocco-Corrado/Corrado/Karosserie/Aussen/Spiegelglas.html (I can only find one side - or is it universal? I'll check tomorrow) Brushed silver badges: http://www.etkashop.com/vwcp/Scirocco-Corrado/Corrado/Karosserie/Aussen/Schriftzug-16V.html (The VR6 badge looks plain chrome rather than burushed unfortunately) Recaro seat foam and covers in both cloth and leather: http://www.etkashop.com/vwcp/details/search/1973/recaro http://www.etkashop.com/vwcp/details/search/1975/recaro http://www.etkashop.com/vwcp/details/search/1974/recaro http://www.etkashop.com/vwcp/details/search/1976/recaro http://www.etkashop.com/vwcp/Scirocco-Corrado/Corrado/Karosserie/Innenausstattung/Kopfstuet-2.html Late heater controls: http://www.etkashop.com/vwcp/Scirocco-Corrado/Corrado/Heizung-und-Lueftung-Klima/Regulierung.html Exhaust back box: http://www.etkashop.com/vwcp/Scirocco-Corrado/Corrado/Abgas-und-Kraftstoffanlage/Daempf-2.html (Not sure which model this is for - I'd love a new original exhaust on my VR) I've only listed some of the stuff I came across but there is loads on there which genuinely surprised me for the above items. The Recaro foam and covers certainly seem interesting but probably not cheaper than a retrim I guess. Edited January 19, 2013 by Portent
Harrier 1 Posted January 19, 2013 The re-trim i had was a bit cheaper than those covers but if i had known they were available i would have payed the extra to get genuine parts.
Jim 2 Posted January 19, 2013 VW does seem to be making a fair effort with their Classic Parts setup.. I'm really pleased and I hope it continues to grow into a serious force for us enthusiasts maintaining older cars!
moneypit23 0 Posted January 19, 2013 Was just about to order a new gear knob until i saw the shipping.
James. 9 Posted January 19, 2013 I've just ordered a selection of obscure and obsolete trim pieces, which are Invaluable to my restoration. So I say kudos to VW Germany for putting enthusiasts of the lesser known models back on their parts radar. The service I've recieved from Germany is very efficient ( as you would expect ). Something I don't mind paying a slight premium for. The flip side is that some parts are strong money (£80 for a radiator hose for example) but on the whole, they're quite reasonable. And lets be honest, it's not like you can nip down to ECP, GSF or VW for them.
VR6Pete 0 Posted January 19, 2013 Good to see more items being added!
Portent 0 Posted January 19, 2013 Was just about to order a new gear knob until i saw the shipping. Are they obsolete at dealers now? Thought they were still available?
GusPW 0 Posted January 21, 2013 Has anyone placed an online order with them? If so how easy and reliable was it? Need to order some things but not sure which would be more reliable, classic parts as linked above or vw heritage. The bits I'm after work out about the same price from either although I'm not sure how classic parts website can work out delivery to uk for 26 euro!? moneypit23 0 Posted January 21, 2013 Are they obsolete at dealers now? Thought they were still available? Probably but i just assumed they'd be mega money and i was getting carried away after following the link.
OllieVR6 0 Posted January 21, 2013 Last time I spoke to classic parts they said they were working on a Corrado section for the website so I guess it makes sense that they have loads of parts available. Classic parts and vw heritage are one and the same aren't they? (It was heritage that said they were working on a Corrado section). Edit - OK so they're completely separate, my bad. corradophil 3 Posted January 22, 2013 It's great to see VW taking an interest in the older cars, but some of those prices are very very high.
G60 CS 0 Posted January 22, 2013 Id be interested in retro fitting heating to my seats pricey tho, head pads, loom switches etc might be better off looking for a set of cloth seats out of a late valver i spose
VWVW 1 Posted January 30, 2013 (edited) Even more parts have been added. centre console dials (not sure if its left or right sided) top radiator flange, indicator and fog lights for late and early corrado http://www.etkashop.com/vwcp/Scirocco-Corrado/Corrado/ Edited January 30, 2013 by VWVW
mr.ots 10 Posted January 30, 2013 The question on my mind is whether these are parts that were just laying around in parts bins in Germany or whether they are actually reproducing this stuff. let's hope it's the latter otherwise once it's gone it's gone! Jim Bowen 1 Posted January 30, 2013 They closed my local place completely. I really short notice too. Just gone the week after I heard.
RW1 0 Posted January 31, 2013 The question on my mind is whether these are parts that were just laying around in parts bins in Germany or whether they are actually reproducing this stuff. let's hope it's the latter otherwise once it's gone it's gone! Its a combination of both. If when exisiting stock runs out there is still a demand by enquiry, then they will make a new batch up, usually sourced from the original supplier. So itf something appears, its best to grab one while it lasts. .
James. 9 Posted January 31, 2013 A perfect example of this, is the PAS reservoir I've just ordered from VW Classic parts Germany. Three listed. One is original stock and the others are reproduction to same standard. The price was the same, so I ordered the original stock.
Jim 2 Posted January 31, 2013 The gauge cluster seems to be for LHD unfortunately.. but I know we had a run on the gauge clusters and Neil ordered a whole load - so hopefully that woke up some computer in Wolfsburg and got an order put in for some more in RHD :)
Billzeebub 1 Posted January 31, 2013 This is looking like a very good source of parts going forward. The basics like badges and mirror glasses are very welcome!
VWVW 1 Posted January 31, 2013 Lets hope they start making front radiator for the VR...Looks like they have radiator for other corrado engine.
Wompa 0 Posted February 22, 2013 How can we tell VWCP that we need the front and rear red VR6 badge?? And maybe a brushed Corrado badge?
