Jim Bowen 1 Posted March 16, 2013 Seems one of my samco hoses has split. Its the one from top of rad. And where the long thing line splits off to header tank its split. I may be able to cut it off and then cut the main hose in half and fit this gruvenparts Y-piece that I bought by mistake. Think it does a similar job but on a mk3 golf. Can you buy samco hoses on there own? Am on phone at the moment so not looked it up on google.
VR6Pete 0 Posted March 16, 2013 Hi mate. Yes you can. I got 2 individual hoses when building my mk2 vr6 as previously they came off a mk3 golf. If you look for Merlin Motorsport they will sort you out :) Be warned, that top hose isn't cheap!
robo22sri 10 Posted March 16, 2013 Jim didn't you just buy the 2 cooler hoses on there own?
Jim Bowen 1 Posted March 18, 2013 I did Robo, but them ones weren't part of the samco hose kit so i thought maybe they only sell them ones. Think i've fixed it now, i had the gruvenparts Y piece already (bought in error about 4yrs ago) Hose was leaking from where the small hose joins Look like race car engine now yay, race car! sankysvr6 0 Posted March 18, 2013 You've probably done a better fix there. But you can also buy plastic item for the Gurven part, from VW which i think was around £5. I can dig out the part number if you need it.
Jim Bowen 1 Posted March 18, 2013 Its ok, the metal one was only about £60  I bought it ages ago thinking i needed it, and then tried to sell it for years. Luckily i managed to find it yesterday
