corrado broke

Recommended Posts

Hi guys, im sat by side of road waiting for AA (again) Car missfires occasionally and then cut out yesterday on A1. Wouldn't restart till half hour later then drove to garage who replaced crank sensor. Car was running better but now cut out again. Any ideas where to look next? Cheers

got started again after 30mins and got back home. Just checked with vagcom and got no error codes. As said above there has been an occasional missfire (like a split second jolt} usually when the engine is under load. Any advice would b really appreciated :) thks, Andy

(car is a 95 vr6)

Check HT leads, coil pack/dizzy cap for splits for the occasional misfire as the the cutting out usual culprits are the ISV but that usually causes the car to stall but start again straight away. Always worth using the search bar at the top of page (eg stalling vr6) as im sure people have had this problem before

Its quite a common symptom of a crank sensor fault tbf. Cutting out and unable to start when hot, but will start again once cooled. Usually due to cracked insulation at the elbow.

Thks for replies, garage said they pulled a fault code for the sensor. Will check the coilpack- could it be ignition/ ecu/ immobiliser? Any way to check?
