bendunstan 10 Posted October 26, 2013 Hi everybody, can anybody share some info on the following. When I gotta car it came with a chip and pulley fitted but I don't know what's what with the chip. I've attached photos of the one in the Ecu currently and the one I have to hand Can anybody tell me what chips I have? Tempest 0 Posted October 26, 2013 The first chip is an after-market one. The second one is missing the sticker covering the EPROM wipe window, so difficult to tell whether that was thew original one. The M27C256B bit on the second chip just tells you what type of EPROM it is (pretty generic one in those days), and ST is the manufacturer, as was Motorola and some others. The original chip would have a sticker on the EPROM wipe window with the following written on it: Bosch/VW 037 906 022 B or the last letter could be a DP, EH or DM.
