Ray1965 10 Posted November 26, 2013 (edited) I'm thinking of putting a induction kit on my vr 1995 2.9L engine...Just not sure what to go for, spotted this on flee bay bit on the cheap side when comparerd to other brands. would be nice to get some good advise from the forum. heres what I found on e bay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VW-CORRADO-EOS-AIR-FILTER-COLD-AIR-FEED-INDUCTION-KIT-2103CH-/151111078842?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&fits=Model%3ACorrado&hash=item232eec13ba And this also......http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/K-N-57i-INDUCTION-KIT-VW-Corrado-2-9-91-95-57-0311-/400420803888?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item5d3af09530 Or has anyone got a second hand one to off load? EJ Taylor 22 Posted November 26, 2013 first one looks awful, cheap and doesn't look like it will fit the rado. The K&N is top quality, but you have the issue of it just sucking in hot air front the engine bay, making and gains questionable. The mains ones to go for are the heat shielded ones. Eg. The pipercross viper (see build for pics when mine was fitted) http://www.essexstyling.com/pipercross-pipercross-viper-induction-volkswagen-corrado-p-22528.html The most popular among VR6 heads the BMC CDA http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BMC-CDA-Induction-Kit-VW-GOLF-III-2-8-I-VR6-/280518335181?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item4150321acd Or for a fraction of the rest, the cheapest option is the Ram Air equivalent at only £60-70 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/RAMAIR-VW-Golf-MK3-VR6-2-8-2-9-Cold-Air-Filter-Maxflow-Nero-Induction-Kit-CAI-/350630182162?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item51a32ffd12 if they still seem abit above budget i recomend a good quality panel filter replacement! K&N or the Green cotton ones i have heard good things about! sound!
Matt@OCD 0 Posted November 26, 2013 I'd say just get a good panel filter in your airbox and spend some time making a really good cold air feed, this will see you more gains. BMC's I don't rate at all, they strangle most engines! You probably wouldn't notice on a standard VR6 but you won't better the standard airbox with one at all! I personally think they look cack too! As above, Green Cotton/K&N panel filter and you're on to something then :)
Jim 2 Posted November 26, 2013 Plop in a panel filter, and if you want more noise, remove the airbox snorkel :)
Harrier 1 Posted November 26, 2013 I think most people who have a BMC-CDA wouldn't agree with Matt,i think they are proven to give a little more power & they sound great!
VAG-hag 0 Posted November 26, 2013 Carbonio all day long! Nice cold air :) Not easy to find though.

VAG-hag 0 Posted November 26, 2013 Yup. Only seen one other
CazzaVR 0 Posted November 26, 2013 Daves16v has one as well. Carbonio or bmc are best for the VR IMHO. The bmc isn't great on some engines such as the 1.8t, but works really well on the VR.
