P3rks 11 Posted December 11, 2013 I'm buying some stem seals for a VR6 and VW want £65 for 12! Ouch. I know this is a job you only want to do every 100,000 miles or so.. But £65 for 12 seals is taking the ****. Are there any recomended alternatives such as Elring or Victor Reinz?
Harrier 1 Posted December 11, 2013 I would happily fit Elring or V Reinz
StueyB 0 Posted December 11, 2013 I'd recommend using these Victor Reinz items. P/N as pic.
P3rks 11 Posted December 11, 2013 Brilliant. OE suppliers I presume? Found some at GSF for £12 the set. Thanks Stuey!
StueyB 0 Posted December 11, 2013 As far as I'm aware yeah, best of in my experience. Victor Reinz Head gasket kits come highly recommended.
P3rks 11 Posted December 11, 2013 Good enough for me. I'm going ARP head bolts and late metal gasket so a gasket set isn't needed. Thanks for the heads up though.
Kevin Bacon 5 Posted December 12, 2013 You won't get better than the dealer ones. £5 per valve is hardly expensive given the total cost of rebuilding a VR6 engine.
