mic_VR 3 Posted March 19, 2014 Quick one for my fellow 24v'ers. Does anyone know what type of sealant, or a part number, I need for a 24v sump? I've developed quite the oil leak and I think it just needs resealing, and I want to sort it ASAP. Cheers
seanl82 23 Posted March 19, 2014 This is the proper stuff I believe Mic. Used for sealing chain covers too. http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/171015704173?nav=SEARCH

Sean_Jaymo 0 Posted March 19, 2014 I but for reference, the pt number is vd 176 404 a2 and costs just shy of 18 quid. Box says silicone sealant for sumps.
mic_VR 3 Posted March 19, 2014 Sean(s) thanks for the info and links, very much appreciated. I but for reference, the pt number is vd 176 404 a2 and costs just shy of 18 quid. Box says silicone sealant for sumps. If you could mate that'd be awesome, PM me what you want for it. Cheers
Kevin Bacon 5 Posted March 19, 2014 Use the VW stuff mate. It's not normal silicon. Quicker drying, easier to get off and more resistant to oil.
