Starting VR after 7 months

I am going to start the VR up this week after 7 months of winter work.

 

Is there anything worth doing or should you just crank it over

I'd crank it over with fuel pump relay removed or something, so it doesn't figure up, just to ensure oil pressure has built up properly. Unless it has minimal fuel, a bit of fresh would help too, otherwise you should be ok.

Hi Lee my battery on my 'vr was dead. charged it up now the alarm goes off soon as I open door. And obviously want start with alarm going. Any ideas? Cheers paul

I would put key in ignition and then connect battery and see if that works

Waht alarm have you got nipper, either the battery is totally dead and upsetting the alarm or you need to do a procedure with the alarm buttons usually found in the manual

I think it's a imbolizer issue. Hence connecting battery with key in ignition..

Thats not going to stop the alarm though is it?

Registers the key(imobilizet) with the alarm system.Worked on my BMW 5 series so could work

Cheers all for the assistance. Would have started Lee's way if battery had enough power. Will charge again and put key in first. cheers pal.
