Jim Bowen 1 Posted May 13, 2014 Trying to find some sachs rear springs and am sure i've heard corrado rear suspension is passat based, whenever i buy springs they always seem to be golf Vr6 ones. Will any of these fit? All seem to have different sachs part numbers and different prices? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Sachs-24652050-Rear-Coil-Spring-VW-PASSAT-2-8-VR6-2-0-88-96-/350915778593?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item51b435d821 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Sachs-24652150-Rear-Coil-Spring-VW-GOLF-2-8-VR6-2-0-GTI-16V-2-0-91-97-/231085966738?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item35cdcc0592 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Sachs-24652250-Rear-Coil-Spring-VW-GOLF-2-8-VR6-2-0-GTI-16V-2-0-1-8-1-6-91-97-/350915782632?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item51b435e7e8

Jim Bowen 1 Posted May 13, 2014 I think that was the ones for sale on here, Just wondering about new ones now.
Dox 23 Posted May 13, 2014 (edited) I'd rather have OE than replacements, I can't ever remember a post here saying they had a broken spring? Newer VAG stuff breaks springs like no tomorrow, I suspect certain processes have been replaced with modern more environmentally friendly ones making them work harden and snap. KYB list them for Corrado front and rear, loads on ebay Edited May 13, 2014 by Dox
Jim Bowen 1 Posted May 13, 2014 I thought sachs was the same stuff you get from the dealer. Or is that what you mean? Going to put everything back to standard and then see if this weird steering is suspension too firm or something else. Think dealers wanted something like £68 a spring
Dox 23 Posted May 13, 2014 Sorry, I wasn't very clear, I meant to say I'd rather lightly used early 90s OE springs than new OE or non genuine ones, pre 1998 you hardly ever heard of broken springs on VAG cars, now its common place. What's the issue with the steering?
Jim Bowen 1 Posted May 13, 2014 Just seems really vague and seems to wander over the road alot. Steering sometimes heavy sometimes light. Really bad on changing cambers especially when over taking someone. Just bad really. Maybe to stiff still.
Supercharged 2 Posted May 13, 2014 VW spares list fronts but not rears - give them a call as they maybe able to source some good ones!
