Declan Sedrick Lehane 10 Posted May 22, 2014 Just a quick hello to you all. Names Declan and I've been into VW's for year, currently in a Bora, but I found and saved a VW Corrado VR6 Storm last weekend. It needs work, and has been sat for nearly 10 years. Seems very complete and I'm happy to finally be in a Corrado! Anyway, whats a post without photos.. Cheers and hello!
emu 0 Posted May 22, 2014 Wow, sotrm that sat for 10 years must be low mileage. Lots of parts needs to be replaced after that time but you should be fine.
Billzeebub 1 Posted May 22, 2014 Welcome to the forum and ownership, an excellent find. What's the story with the car, mileage etc..and where did you find it? Any plans for it?
Declan Sedrick Lehane 10 Posted May 22, 2014 I've been on the look out for a new car/toy for some time. Had to be German and more VW really. A friend got a tip off about the car, and it was very local so we went to have a look. It was owned by an old boy, so passed away ten years ago. And ever since then its been sat in a garage un used. His daughter now finally wanted it to go to a good home. Unfortunately they wanted strong money for it so we ended up walking away. A month later a deal was done, a 1,000 notes later the car was mine. Its got just over 100,000 miles on the clock, full history and it must have been very well looked after during the old boys ownership, its a very straight car. A few marks here and there, but everything works including the spoiler, heated seat etc and it should soon be MOT'd and back on the road. Plans at the moment are just to tidy it up and getting it all running as it should then I will see what happens. So far I am so happy with the car, just needs a damn good clean and polish!! Billzeebub 1 Posted May 22, 2014 That's the sort of find I've always dreamed of. For £1000 it's a steal, even if it will take a few quid to get back on the road. Look forward to seeing your progress with it

Declan Sedrick Lehane 10 Posted August 27, 2014 So, slowly but surely getting there with the VR6. as expected a few little bits needed doing to get it on the road. After silly things like fluids being changed. All it needed really was tires, brakes, a new battery as well as a few other small bits. Its now MOT'd with not one advisory!!! :) To rub it in it really didn't cost a lot to get it back on the road even after 10 years!!! Its so surprising how good this thing is underneath! There is no rust, it need nothing mechanically. The body also is in really good condition. The paint comes up really well. The bumpers are cracking slightly but these will get smoothed and paint in the near future. Its currently missing a few bits inside, nothing major but an eBay hunt is needed! the headlining was horrible so that's currently being re trimmed in the standard fabric, so that will be put back in when its done! Next plans at the moment is change the exhaust system, its horrible, get an induction kit fitted, wheels and coilovers for now!! Anyway, a few (naf) iPhone shot for you. Need to get the proper camera out!

16VG60 1 Posted August 28, 2014 Great find fella, and a blinding deal at one penny per mile, to date :). You should find the parts you require with ease on here or at specialist breakers. Enjoy the process of bringing your Storm back to full glory. Am really pleased to see another Corrado saved from the breakers yard.
