There's plenty of jacks to choose from i would go for a good well known brand, the quality of the axel stand is equally important as i know someone who had a bad experience with bad quality stands.

have you tried looking at tool station, screw fix, and machine Mart?

Machine Mart http://www.machinemart.co.uk/shop/search/filter/trolley-jacks-bottle-jacks-transmission-jacks/type/any/module/shopcategory/page/1?da=1&TC=SRC-AUTO-trolley

Clarke is a good choice.

Those SGS jacks have a very good reputation and seem very good for the money.

If you want to spend a bit more, the Arcan jacks from Costco are supposed to be excellent.

I've got a sip low profile jack and it's a monster, paid around 100 for it but the build quality is fantastic and it's very sturdy, I don't have that worry about it tipping over or lowering itself down like the crappy halfords stuff I've had before.

To me, you buy a decent jack and it will last a lifetime.

Another vote for the Arcan jack, there in Costco at the minute for £70+vat, get one quick as they don't always stock them!

I have this one from SGS

http://www.sgs-engineering.com/hydraulic-jacks/trolley-jacks/tja125-aluminium-trolley-jack

I like it, nice and easy to get under car, i mainly got it because of the warrenty was longer than most other ones (for some reason i have 10yrs in my head) but site says 2yrs. Maybe they changed that or i've gone even madder since buying it.

My only issues with it are:

1) Its not a quick/speed pumping jack, so you have to pump it more and put more effort in, but we are men so thats not a massive issue

2) Was jacking car up and noticed the jack coming apart, the big roller on the front come undone, So had to go over the jack and check all the bolts were properly tight and i decided to threadlock some of them in, wasn't that impressed with that, but has been fine since.

I found most trolley jacks are the same but with a different label/brand.
