GrahamU 6 Posted July 1, 2014 I noticed the G60 track rods are a slightly different design to the 16v to cope with the wider wheels/tyres. I'd like to try and fit a pair to my 16v rack (may be the same a g60 rack??) They have a step removed to restrict the travel, this will mean a slightly larger turning circle but may stop my tyres rubbing the inner arches. Has anyone tried this before? davidwort 0 Posted July 2, 2014 if you've got really big wheel/tyres and lowering then I don't think you'll stop arch fouling by simply using the G60 track rods I think these were only intended to compensate for 185 to 195 tyres, it might help a little though if you can find G60 rods? GrahamU 6 Posted July 2, 2014 Apparently it was for 205/60/15 tyres, I have 215/40/17s, I might be able to space them out another 5mm aswell to stop it It may also be possible to have a washer/sleeve machined to fit over the thread and onto the recessed part,
davidwort 0 Posted July 2, 2014 Have you ever seen a g60 with those rods though? I'd imagine they are obsolete by now from vw.
