aide 0 Posted June 4, 2004 I might have dreamt it - but did I read on here the 16v manifold can accept the bigger audi 80/90 20v throttle body :?:

aposegil 0 Posted June 4, 2004 i didnt think there was a difference between the 16v and the audi its was only a real mod for the 8v gti's i might be wrong
Kevin Bacon 5 Posted June 4, 2004 I think the 5 cylinder Audi engine has a bigger secondary throttle. Henny will know for sure......
Henny 0 Posted June 4, 2004 yup, the 5 cylinder's one has slightly larger butterflies IIRC.... but there's practically sod all in it to be honest, so there's not a lot of point on a 16V... Try and get a Weber single butterfly one... there's LOTS of difference then! ;) 8)
flusted 0 Posted June 5, 2004 The 5cyl audi throttle body is only a good mod for mk1 gti as the mk2 has the same size anyway.AIDE did you mean a 20vt throttle body? Anyone know if they would fit?
RadoAds 0 Posted June 5, 2004 Yup definately for the mk1 8v gti's only, in days of old  we used to do the audi swap with the warm up reg aswell, used to make a good difference but not on the mk2's
