Declan Sedrick Lehane 10 Posted September 5, 2014 Hi All! Sorry its been asked before, I have tried searching! Can anyone recommend me a new Rad for the VR6? Good options to go for? Cheers Declan
Jim 2 Posted September 5, 2014 I ordered this one: http://www.radiatorshop.net/products/volkswagen-corrado-29-i--vr6? It was a Hella unit - which I was fairly happy with, and it seems to be running fine with good temperatures.
Jim Bowen 1 Posted September 5, 2014 Most people i've seen replace their rad with an aftermarket one seem to complain its not very good and leaks. I would try and get a genuine one from VW, but with the prices these days its probably better sense to get a custom one made up by one of these fancy rad/intercooler companies. Thats what i think i'll be doing. Bought one from VW a few years back, about £200 and i swear it has small leaks, (can see pink coolant crust on it)
Jim 2 Posted September 5, 2014 Genuine VR6 ones are obsolete now. Thanks VW.
Jim Bowen 1 Posted September 5, 2014 Might just keep the shell and convert everything to BMW running gear

Stonejag 10 Posted September 12, 2014 It's worth getting pictures of the unit you're going to receive before you fork out. My replacement a couple of years back cost a small fortune and turned out not to include some of the stock unit's mounting points on the rear - this meant my nice DG Autotech fan brackets weren't a straight bolt-on fit and I had to improvise! Next time I've got major works going on I'll probably swap it out for a more accurate reproduction so I can tidy everything up. Stone
