Help needed

Hi all some help is needed please, originally my car was struggling to start so I put this down to the starter motor but as of recent I have notice that without fail every morning she would start on the first turn of the key but the rest of the day is a nightmare, key turns and nothing then on maybe the 10th go a little burst then after that she will start, wondered if anyone has an ideas please

Sounds like what mine was doing and it's the ignition switch on the barrel that was playing up.

Hi. I had a similar intermittent problem. Despite cleaning all feed and earth terminals to and from the starter motor, the problem persisted. I sourced a vw reconditioned starter and solenoid from Deutscheparts and the problem was solved. Be warned the starter is a bit of a swine to get at!

Wiggle the key when its turned and not starting. Ignition switch is a common problem and a likely suspect so you'll know if it starts when wiggling. Other than that, as mentioned earths and feeds then starter motor.
