Grum 0 Posted November 2, 2014 so i fixed one problem only to notice another two lol. fixed the loss of 5th gear by tightening one bolt. went a 5min drive to make sure all was ok with 5th and the temp gauge hit 70 pretty quickly. noticed a leak where the jubilee clip is, dont know if the hose has a small tear (cant see under hose) or the leak is coming from the round black part to the right of the clip. (picture) also noticed all the hoses were warm except the large hose at the bottom of the radiator, is this a sign of a blocked radiator?
sankysvr6 0 Posted November 3, 2014 The leak looks like its coming from the auxiliary water pump.
Jon_vr6 1 Posted November 3, 2014 Was the car up to temperature when you checked the bottom hose (fans on) ?
Jim Bowen 1 Posted November 3, 2014 Have you loosened that clip, doesn't look very tight in the photo.
VAG-hag 0 Posted November 3, 2014 If its not just a loose jubilee clip then see here for a good source of Aux pumps: http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?t=88973
Grum 0 Posted November 3, 2014 (edited) It was around 70degrees when I checked. It was the speed it reached 70 that worried me. Tightened it as much as possible, think I'll buy a new clip just in case though. The slave cylinder was changed recently so I'm thinking the mechanics hit something during the change.
