oil cooler

had a quick question and cant find the right answer my oe oil cooler is knackered got oil leaking round there and oil coming into the water and i read this is a common thing when the oil cooler has had it. I cant afford a uprated one at the mo but when ive come to looking at ordering a new standard one there are three type of seal which ones do i need and how many from lookign at it i need one of the big seals and a small one is this correct or do i need two larger ones and a small one?

cheers mate i thought so and im assuming the smaller one is the seal around the pressure switch do i need one of those and one of the bigger seal or am i being stupid

I've never seen the small one out of those three.

 

You need the two larger ones, the round profile one with little lugs on it, and the square profiled one. They go on each side of the cooler.

also oi have been reading up about actaully deleting the oil cooler with the ocd oil deletion pipes, what are peoples thoughts on this

You need some sort of oil cooler, have seen quite a few people fit a front mount radiator type one, but just seems like extra hassle, extra pipework etc. Standard one has worked fine on my VR for 20yrs and 220,000miles.
