MZpog 10 Posted January 8, 2015 I'm considering tackling a repair to my tilt only sunroof and am thinking a straight swap for a working passat glass roof would be nice. What have you got peeps?
lilfuzzer 1 Posted January 8, 2015 have several but all corrado ones will have to check to make sure all movement is fine
MZpog 10 Posted January 12, 2015 If I'm going to suffer the hassle of pulling the sunroof, then I think the replacement will have to be a none corrado unit to hopefully avoid doing it again.
seanl82 23 Posted January 12, 2015 I've just fixed my mechanism. I got a cheap mk3 Golf replacement, but you can't use the original metal panel as the roof trim won't raise when you use the tilt function. Mine was doing the same thing as is in the link to the Corrado club of Canada in the wiki, and raising when sliding forward. I replaced the middle and rear locking parts with the ones from the Golf mech, and it now works perfectly. Well, it would if my motor wasn't tits as well! Louis 0 Posted January 14, 2015 If all goes well this weekend I will be taking the whole sunroof & frame out of my mk3 Golf GTi that I'm breaking. Works fine. I've had a quick search, it looks like the mk3 sunroof will fit a Corrado although it sounds like it'd be more involved than fitting a Passat one. PM if interested. MZpog 10 Posted February 11, 2015 Oh What's the difference? Passat one is glass and supposed to be more reliable
Wayne2015 10 Posted February 11, 2015 Passat one is glass and supposed to be more reliable Cool So its the glass sunroof as opposed to painted sunroof. I prefer the glass as it let's light in. And thought about replacing mine. But then I like the painted solid look on the outside, hence decided to leave it for the time being (unless it leaks again :( )
