jezhawk7 10 Posted January 21, 2015 Morning guys just wanted to asked if any of you can point me in the right direction Jumped in my car as normal she started first time as normal driving up the road I started to smell a burnt smell coming through the blower I did got through a large puddle which i did not see as it was dark, then she started juddering and very sluggish sounded a bit like a tractor. So Turned round and brought her back home before I did anymore damage, I thought she was a bit smelly a couple of weeks ago coming in the blower but as normal didn't take much notice and a bit jumpy threw first few gears but this morning its the worst it's been. Any advice would be a great help many thanks Jez
jezhawk7 10 Posted January 21, 2015 Sorry forgot to mention it has been raining as well most of the night but still this does not explain the Burn smell
seanl82 23 Posted January 21, 2015 Probably just ignition system arching due to the water. Happened to me a couple of weeks ago after driving through what can better be described as a river! Water was coming up over the bonnet! You did the right thing by stopping. Check your air filter isn't sopping wet, check plug recesses aren't full of water, then run it at idle to dry everything out mate. Should be ok. easypops 8 Posted January 21, 2015 Happened to me once after a big puddle incident, popped the bonnet and the coil pack was having its own wee firework display. Needed a new coilpack which was fine as I had one sitting
