Without doing my homework and have later discovered it's a Golf VR inlet:

 

 

My question is although this is a golf inlet can it still be fitted to the C.

Yep, it will fit and work but the Corrado one is better designed and flows better, although TBH I doubt you'll notice any real drop in performance.

I agree with Rog. Put it this way , if you had two standard cars , one with 2.8 manifold and one with a 2.9 , did a quarter mile in both I reckon the 2.9 would be 100th of a second quicker ! .

If its off an OBD2 golf the throttle body wont fit. Google the part number for the answer

 

The Golf inlet manifold is higher torque at lower revs, the Corrado is lower torque but higher power at higher revs.

Didn't realise that Dox, might fit my 2.8 mani then and see if I prefer the low end torque to the high end power.

Checked the part no and ends with K so according to what I can see it's OBD1....More luck that I Dodged a bullet.

 

I must say though that the mirror Polish is second to none.
