Corrado 16v front suspension arms (are they handed - i.e Left side and Right side)

Recommended Posts

Hello ladies & Gents,

as the title really is there a difference in them.

Because to me one side is straight and flat and has a tapered edge where the bush goes in (MARKED AS GREEN ARROWS)

Then the top side to me has a tube stem with flat edge (MARKED AS BLUE ARROWS)

Then just behind that is a slight tapered kink (MARKED AS RED ARROWS)

I'm just wanting to double check as I've ordered a left side front suspension arm,

but looking at it to me it looks like a right side arm that I've received.

Here are some photo's below.

What do you guys think or am I going mad.

Many thanks.

Got it sorted finally,

the suspension arm in the photos above was ok, but the other arm I purchased was a slightly different arm in shape and measurement.

The company I bought from insisted it was correct but it wasn't, it's taken roughly 3 weeks to get it sorted out and my money back.

Anyway I'll be going to my local car parts place, won't be using EBay for anything like this again, the company off there I bought from just isn't trust worthy.

Basically it was a Golf arm that had been sent to me.

Roughly measuring from the centre of the front wishbone bush to the centre of one of the front ball joint bolt holes in the arm is 360mm for Corrado 16v's, and roughly 380mm for the Golf arm.

With the arms lose on the floor on top of one another roughly inline they look the same, but fitting the Golf arm on the Corrado it pushes the hub out ever so slightly and so puts the geometry out, it may have been mentioned before I'm not sure but thought I'd post up the rough measurements for anyone that may need it.
