Jim Bowen 1 Posted August 10, 2015 Do people use any sort of paste here or just the triangular gasket on there own?
mic_VR 3 Posted August 10, 2015 Had mine apart recently and put it back together with the gaskets only. They should be OK with just that provided all the surfaces are flat/free from contaminates etc.
Jim Bowen 1 Posted August 10, 2015 Am sure i put paste on it before and it leaked, so will go without this time. Cheers for the reply
Fine wine, Belgian chocs. 1 Posted August 10, 2015 I used copper grease on mine. Sounds daft but I used to work in a tyre/exhaust emporium and the best bloke there used to swear by it. I use it on all exhaust joints and have done for years. Never had a blowing joint and everything comes apart again when you want it to. The only negative is that it smokes and stinks when it first gets hot (I imagine the grease burns off and leaves the copper behind).
timmaaah 0 Posted August 11, 2015 I replaced the downpipe to manifold just the other week and just used the two triangular gaskets with no issues.
