Mrbaldhead 10 Posted September 14, 2015 Right, does any one have any idea on how much work is required to add a Turbo to a VR6 2.9L Corrado? I know this sounds ridiculous but how much is a good conversion going to set me back and how much is there that can go wrong..... ie engine going pop etc..... A sensible conversion that will add 100bhp? Thanks
Tigerfish 10 Posted September 14, 2015 There is lots of info and members on here with turbo'd VRs. Search for "turbo", "Vince" and "stealth" and you'll hit lots of results. From what I can gather, look for a £7k budget for turbo, internals, injectors, big brakes, etc.
kdub 10 Posted September 14, 2015 3-5k depending on how much you can do yourself and thats for a sensible 100WHP upgrade with appropriate clutch, brakes and suspension. Drive in drive out about 5k for a proven conversion (Turbo only).
VEEDUBBED 0 Posted September 14, 2015 How long's a piece of string mate..Bolting in the turbo is the easy bit. To do a proper job i'd lift the head , fit forged pistons, metal head gasket etc, then there's the clutch, injectors, boost control, possible lsd, pipework, intercooler, exhaust downpipe and System........ See what i mean..
seanl82 23 Posted September 14, 2015 If you're only after 100 bhp, then worth considering a supercharger. Again, loads of info on here and if you can do the work yourself, you should be able to pick up all parts for around £1500. That'll add a good 100bhp, but the power delivery is completely different to a turbo. Some like it, some don't.
