edd 0 Posted May 21, 2016 As title VR6 crossmember wanted (one that holds the front engine mount). It will be heading off to be powder coated etc so surface rust not an issue. I would just rather have one ready to do the swap rather than have mine off with engine supported etc. Once sorted I will have a used VR6 subframe and crossmember available Ta Edd
lilfuzzer 1 Posted May 22, 2016 Hi edd it appears these are getting harder to come across. I cannot help but very good luck with your search Sent from my SM-G357FZ using Tapatalk

robrado974 1 Posted May 22, 2016 I'm in the same boat . The ones that do come up on flea bay are not cheap either .
Mystic Blue VR 10 Posted May 22, 2016 Won't be cheap but have you tried VW Classic Parts? I was in a similar situation recently needing a fan housing for my VR6 & couldn't find one but got one from VW Classic. Excellent website, easy to use, & the part came from Germany in about five days.
robrado974 1 Posted May 22, 2016 I think they are in the same position as Heritage. G60 only .
dr_mat 0 Posted May 23, 2016 Slightly different topic where and how much is the cleanup and powder coating likely to cost?
robrado974 1 Posted May 23, 2016 I paid 60.00 for the rear beam .
dr_mat 0 Posted May 23, 2016 Wonder if they can do that for wings and sills.. :)
edd 0 Posted May 23, 2016 I'm been recommended a place in redditch. Expecting it to be 50-60 per piece. I've also got a front slam panel and a drivers wing I need blasting to remove small areas of rust. Can't decide if new slam panel from vw classic is a better option but they are £300 delivered!!! easypops 8 Posted May 23, 2016 I got a few things blasted, 2xcrossmembers, rad support, abs rings, spring things that go on the rear plus a rear beam..... Cost was £120 and I painted them myself......worked out quite cheap and turned out well(I think so anyway ) Yes I know there are 2 of the required crossmembers here but I need them both sadly
Stonejag 10 Posted June 21, 2016 I have a crossmember... as with all of them it's a bit rusty though. Any use?
edd 0 Posted June 22, 2016 Can you send me some photos dude? [email protected] Where are you located? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Stonejag 10 Posted June 22, 2016 It's in Bedford. Still on the car but the front bumper and slam panel are off so it shouldn't be too bad to remove. Bit of an arse to post to Worcestershire though, sorry that's not as helpful as I thought it was :(
P3rks 11 Posted July 4, 2016 (edited) How about this: IMG_2215 by Rich Perkins, on Flickr Or are you talking about this: IMG_2219 by Rich Perkins, on Flickr IMG_2220 by Rich Perkins, on Flickr Both have surface rust, but very solid and will clean up very nicley with a blast and powdercoat. Especially the carrier/under piece which normally rots through, to be fiar I've not seen one this solid in years! Edited July 4, 2016 by P3rks
