Cressa 44 Posted May 24, 2016 Okay so my late vr6 suspension is ridiculously high. Even for standard. Looking at the photos, firstly had I built everything in the correct order? Maybe I have been sold the wrong springs but something is amiss As usual all help gratefully received by4 I smash it up. Jim Bowen 1 Posted May 24, 2016 What sort of shock is that? Make? Looks quite long to me.
Cressa 44 Posted May 24, 2016 Its monroe. My fault for fitting something to keep it standard. Should have left the crappy cheap coilovers on that it came with. I've got it apart now and no way can it go shorter either. I think I seriously need someone's standard suspension to measure the parts as this is ridiculous. Its been on the car a year and done ZERO miles but I've been sold something that is not right Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk

delfinis38 1 Posted May 24, 2016 I guess the spring springie ness will have something to do with it
Cressa 44 Posted May 24, 2016 I was tempted to cut the spring but I can't go any shorter than the damper length which seems long. Jim any measurements would be greatly appreciated. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
Cressa 44 Posted May 24, 2016 Jim if sometime you could measure me the distance from the spring plate up to the 1st threads on the piston, and from the spring plate down to the centre of the fixing eye, that would be a great help. Graphite 0 Posted June 9, 2016 When you fitted the spring to the rear shock absorbers did you have to put A LOT of effort on the top plate to allow the retaining nut to be turned onto the thread?
Cressa 44 Posted June 10, 2016 Slight effort. Nothing major really. What's your thoughts? Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
Graphite 0 Posted June 10, 2016 That sounds okay. If anything is a miss then it sounds like it's probably the overall length of the shock absorber. Perhaps try calling some local motor factors and seeing if you can compare one of your units to what they specify?
