unclean 10 Posted January 7, 2017 Hi there, I'm refurbishing my front subframe and I'm wondering if folks would advise against/for using these Powerflex bushings? https://www.vwheritage.com/shop/WC40785250/front-sub-frame-bushes-powerflex-mk2-golf-jetta-corrado-set/ I've avoided polybushes elsewhere to avoid making the car too harsh, but these seem like they wouldn't make much difference. Any thoughts or alternative suggestions? Cheers, Phil.
seanl82 23 Posted January 7, 2017 I'd just use the standard ones Phil. These are for the X-member that sit in front of the subframe, and act as the kind of front engine support beam. They're a pain to get in, but its not something you're ever likely to have to change again. I can't remember where I got mine from, possibly AVS spares but they're cheap as chips - much cheaper than the Powerflex ones anyway, and tbh its unlikely to make any noticeable difference at all. Your choice though mate, good luck with the rest of the refurb, I'll be moving to the front when I eventually get the underside clean and finish the rear!
