Dazz_G60_Wales 0 Posted April 28, 2017 (edited) Hi Fella`s Had my sunroof collapse on one side the other day and just in the middle of taking it out this weekend ! It has a lot of damage from what I see after removing the sunroof panel itself. The main culprit is a cable gone on the passenger side but also all the screw holes that hold the metal roof on to the sliders have all split the metal ! Cutting to the chase has anybody used a Golf Mk3 mech with the metal roof. I had one donated last year, not tested yet but looks in decent condition. Also will the corrado inside trim panel still work with it. Any help would be great. Cheers Edited April 28, 2017 by Dazz_G60_Wales

Dazz_G60_Wales 0 Posted April 29, 2017 Hi Hasan Thanks for the reply but time is against Me this year for a complete refurb. I have manipulated the glass on the Mk 3 unit and it does not look bad to be honest and all works. Yet to see if its water tight or wind proof but it is a fair weather car anyway so hope it will be ok.
Cressa 44 Posted April 29, 2017 I fitted a mk3 moonroof for a while. Downsides. .. You have to move the cover back manually. ...oh the effort. And the glass profile isn't spot on. So I butchered brackets and fixings to make my trim slide with my steel roof. But that broke. ... So I went back to the original with the super complicated mechanism. After cleaning and greasing all is still good. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
