No abs light

I have NO ABS light on dash, the light comes on when the engine is cranked,

when the engine stars no ABS light on dash,The bulb is ok.

when remove the wiring block from the ABS pump the ABS light works

Turn the ignition on can feel the pump self testing though the brake padel (light knock)

start engine can feel the pump self testing though the brake padel(light knock)

Also where can l get a scanner to carry out a test on the ABS, engine ect,l have had a look on eBay but can only find 16 plan condition as my Corrado has 2 wiring block by the gear lever :dance:

That is perfectly normal, the light is supposed to come on and then go out. The light going out shows that the system is OK. Worry if it doesn't go out or comes on whilst driving.

The light should come on for the ABS self-test when the ignition comes on, and the go out, regardless of the engine cranking or not. Then it should stay off unless it detects a fault. It won't come on when ABS is engaged for example like on some newer systems.

 

You will need an OBD diagnostics cable (usually purple plug) and a 2 x 2 adapter for the early cars, and some software such as VAG.com or VCDS. Take a look at the Ross-Tech site, they sell all the cables as well.

Have got he 2x2 adapted trayed a sanpno scanner did not work. Do not wish to pay out £130 + for a scanner that may not work

It will be cheaper to go the vw place

Have checked the forum but not found a similar problem ( see first post)

As l new to Corrados any information even you think it is sutiped reply,go for it
