Cressa 44 Posted July 29, 2017 AGHHHHHHH SO, after getting a replacement barrel and sitting cleaning it all, regreasing the springs and trying to make enough tumblers correct, I come to put it all back together and it does NOT fit. Bloody Corrado. .. So I need a replacement barrel that is correct for a handle that has two strange lugs at the bottom. Passenger side 95 model car Bo##ocks.... Oh and a no.2 Tumbler If anyone can help with my previous ask Cheers I now need a beer Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
Cressa 44 Posted July 29, 2017 Passenger side and for a VR.. needed. The barrel from my drivers door does not fit this handle, which leads me to wonder if this has been previously replaced (the back of the lock was in the door !! ) or is it that n/'s and o/s are different. I'm reading lots but no definite answers. Some say a VR handle is different, really? ?? All knowledge and experience greatfully received Cressa Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
VEEDUBBED 0 Posted July 29, 2017 (edited) The Lock barrels are in fact handed mate, I've got a ton of them. Send me your address and I'll pop one in the post, along with a couple of spare 1-4 tumblers. Only problem is that I'm in Rome so god knows when you'll get 'em delivered, especially now that it's pushing 40 degrees.. The local post office are a lazy bunch of buggers. Regarding Vr handles being different to other models handles I don't see any difference, except for the non central locking models that have no micro switch inside. I've never worked out what those silly little 'ears' present on some lock barrels are for, some had them whilst others don't. Remember also that the spring loaded lock arrangement are also handed left and right side, don't mix them up.. If you look on the bit that the spring sits under, there's a number, the left solids has a different number than the right. Hope that helps mate. Cheers. dragon green 5 Posted July 29, 2017 Are your handles late ? If they are they should have a raised "lip" where the key goes, and some of them have a left hand thread securing screw ! I've only got experience with the early ones, which barrels have been interchangeable Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Cressa 44 Posted July 30, 2017 Down the bottom of the barrel are two very small dots of metal. I thought these were stopping the barrel from going all the way down. I've since learnt from veedubbed that the locks are in fact handed....damn. Trust me to get the wrong one. Pm sent mate Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
VEEDUBBED 0 Posted July 30, 2017 (edited) Cress, Just to be sure, and seeing as i'm LHD compared to the UK, look on the bottom of Your Lock barrel, there will be either an LA or R stamped onto it. Right under the circlip that retains the spring loads locking finger with the number: 535 837 208. The two little metal 'pips' are only present on the left hand (UK driver's side) handle. Let me know which one you want. Cheers. Edited July 30, 2017 by VEEDUBBED
Cressa 44 Posted July 30, 2017 The broken one I have, that I need has LA on the end. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
Cressa 44 Posted July 30, 2017 Mine has those little pips on! !! But the RA lock definitely does not fit. Everyday is a school day Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
VEEDUBBED 0 Posted July 30, 2017 (edited) Hmm, confusing..as usual.. Are you def. Sure that it's the Little pipe blocking the barrel? Does Your Lock barrel have the corresponding cut outs For the pipe? Make sure the little micro switch isn't blocking the barrel and that the barrel is in the right way.. And check that the rubber o-ring seal isn't binding or twisted on the barrel. Let me know, I've got both LA+R sides. Cress, it's LA on the barrel, not RA mate..just to confuse you more!! Cressa 44 Posted July 30, 2017 Mine deffo say LA or RA It is 100% LA that I need as that is the broken one but does sit flush. The RA will not fit correctly. I've definitely learnt more about these just lately Thanks for your time and patience Cressa Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
