fla 9 Posted April 26, 2018 Just wondering if anyone knows how to remove the lens from the black instrument cluster bezel? I was thinking of putting it in the oven for a while, assuming its some sort of glue holding it in place. In my over enthusiast earlier days I managed to split the corner of one :( But this will be used as the trial piece
marks2 0 Posted April 26, 2018 (edited) The clear plastic is welded to the black. Putting in the oven probably won't do much other than melt both! I have a spare in the garage if you are after one. Edited April 26, 2018 by marks2
fendervg 32 Posted April 26, 2018 What part are you talking about? The clear panel is held on by two screws as far as I know and then just lifts off, unless you mean something else. A photo would help.

Fender - you're quite right. From this part i want to separate it into the clear plastic screen and the black plastic surround.

fendervg 32 Posted April 26, 2018 Ah ok. That makes sense. I'd suggest a hairdryer or heat gun and a craft knife. And lots of time.
marks2 0 Posted April 26, 2018 Examining my spare it looks like the screen is welded to the bezel in numerous positions along the top and bottom. I'm betting if gentle pressure does not break the bond then you'll likely crack the screen trying to remove it.
GrahamU 6 Posted April 28, 2018 It is glued around the top and bottom edge's and they dont come off easily. Would probably be better if some care was taken bottom edge top edge
fendervg 32 Posted April 28, 2018 Looks tricky - why are you separating them anyway?
