Polished Aluminium Intake Boot VR6

Hey guys so still on the hunt for a intake boot for the VR as mine has tares/rips and holes all over it.

 

Seeing as the engine is out and everything else in getting replaced might as well get to it.

 

I did get an offer earlier in the year for a second hand good condition boot from a nice bloke on here however I never went through with it (Whoever you are "apologies")

 

So looking around I discovered this:

By HG Motor Sport - it has the ISV connection option unlike all the other after market versions for the GOLF.

 

Anyone got any thoughts on this?

No, it needs to be blanked off.

 

If you want one that comes without the ISV outlet then you have lots of choices. 42 Draft designs do a nice version for 0DB2 etc.

Looks like it would have to be plugged - it's in the description. Also states that the pipe needs to be shortened for use with a standard air box. I've looked at a few of these, but most of them are made for the Mk3 2.8 VR6, where the strut tower is in a different place, meaning they won't fit a Corrado - but this one is worth a punt for the price.

Hi Mate,

 

I did indeed go ahead with this. Added the finishing touch to my rebuild.

 

I just purchased the Aluminum intake on it's own and then two 76mm silicone extensions.

 

Upon fitting I realised that one of the 76mm extensions was not going to give correct fitment at the throttle body end so therefore I had to buy a 45 degree elbow which I then trimmed down so that the aluminium pipe would clear the strut tower, enable correct length down towards the air feed and allow the Maf connecter plug to reach the MAF.

 

Really works great though and sound the nuts with my cone filter. I bought the largest length filter I could find.

 

Just to note, for the ISV connection, remove the factory plastic adapter from the hose and push straight onto the pipe.

I received this the other day. Wanted to know - Did you trim the aluminium pipe by the throttle body end? I offered it up to the car and it seemed very close to the brake fluid reservoir even with the pipe right up against the throttle body (with no silicone pile in between)

 

Or do you have a pic from above to see how yours fits. Thanks again

Hi mate,

 

No trimming needed on the pipe just on the 45 degree bend a slight trim on the single piece extension hose for the MAF plug to reach.
