Removing VR6 Parking E-brake handle cover surround

Recommended Posts

Slipping off leather material was not necessary... an error made after the fact. This video was uploaded because it was very difficult determining what was keeping the ebrake parking brake cover from sliding off easily.

Good stuff - yeah, that little locking tab is almost impossible to get to, and even then it's usually very stiff - had me stumped for ages.

Another over-engineered VW design mehtinks - a simple black self tapping screw to hold it on, accessed from above or the side would have worked just as well.

Your video takes this task from impossible to a severe test of patience. I finally got it without destroying the cover by reaching behind the leather with a 90 degree pick. Thanks for being awesome and documenting how you did it.

Happy to help a fellow Corrado owner.
