Keyo 47 Posted August 16, 2020 (edited) Someone shared me pictures of these rare VSR options by Cox Motorsport in Japan. They released a brochure with some parts that could be purchased from VW Motorsport and they would fit you together a VSR MK3 or Vento . They were a racing team based in Japan and still in existence today. As far as I'm aware these were not available to any other market and I Imagine because Cox were a racing team and they were allowed to sell them because I have never seen these items in any of the VAG Catalogues but could be wrong of course. http://www.cox.co.jp/company/r_history_e.html Includes the Vento Speed Lines which were a pricey £423.00 per alloy (£1692.00 a set of four in 1993) in today's money is £2,695.00 based on the bank England inflation calculator. There was also a 4 stud version in a smaller style and size. VSR Manifold Kit £3800.00 in 2003 VSR Package not including manifold or alloys in 2003 £1792.00 Lots of other extras you could buy including the VSR of course - steering wheel- VSR front decal and many other items. Attached various pages of the brochures - interesting read guys. https://m.blog.naver.com/PostView.nhn?blogId=kkk6323&logNo=220999371527&categoryNo=111&proxyReferer=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.google.com%2F&fbclid=IwAR2aKFhRWb6sZMgBG5RvoKED2KlR6wJqLwJBq0NYvYz1SX4gUkyFCXNT4Qk Edited August 16, 2020 by Keyo

Keyo 47 Posted August 25, 2020 (edited) Found some more evidence that the alloy wheels could be purchased direct from VWMS hannover in Germany from a car magazine advert - have all the vag alloy brochures here from the UK with price lists and can not find any trace of them in the Uk. I think they should just be called VWMS Speedlines to be honest as clearly were not just designated for Vento race cars. I don't think they sold many sets because they were so damn expensive at just under £1700 a set back in 1993 - to put it into context I have the UK alloy wheel brochure and back in 1991 you could purchase a set of BBS RM for £668.00 new. fendervg 32 Posted August 25, 2020 (edited) This is great info Keyo - interesting to see what fancy bits and bobs you could spend your ill gotten gains on back then. The Japanese love their Euro import cars and always had lots of options and dealer extras that weren't seen elsewhere, so I'm not surprised that there was a specialist like Cox Motorsports over there offering all these highly sought after extras. Oh, I bought it straight from the auction and did all the paper work/inspections required. Prior to the Corrado I had imported a Japanese truck for my business so I kind of had the hang of it! Too right mate some of the imported Mercs from Japan pre AMG merger just have amazing items on them from the tuning houses- I suppose in the 80s and 90s they had the electrical consumable industry to themselves before other countries like China started manufacturing = in other words had mega cash ! Import cars have sort of been frowned upon in the UK for years but from what I can see they look a great buy if from Japan !!!
