I want to change the LEDs in all my switches (heated seats, windows, rear windscreen, fog lights etc.) from green to red. I have taken them out and prised a couple open and decided that it is beyond my expertise. Can anyone advise where I could take my car to get this done professionally? Or can anyone out there do this job for me? East Anglia based. Cheers

Cant do it that way chap, the filter sits inside a plastic housing that has to be taken off. God only knows why they thought plastic was the best material!!
-
When I first did an oil change on my last VR I spent half a day trying to get the oil filter housing off, when I did put it back I did it hand tight and never had any subsequent problems. I am now doing my first oil change on the new VR and guess what, it wont budge. I've even snapped my new unused strap wrench trying to do it. Also I hate to say it but the filter was last changed by Stealth of all people! Its such a ballache to get to as well I have a flexible hose and a metal hose running right under the housing so no hope of getting a socket on there, and if it was even just an inch lower it would be so much easier to get to. I'm now stuffed as idiot that I am I drained the oil first so cant run myself up to halfords to get some more tools to break! Damit! Rant over....

VR6 | Black Pearl | Ipswich, Suffolk Price: £6000 Description: Description: For sale is this 1996 Corrado VR6 in Black Magic Pearl. In outstanding condition with just over 125,000 miles this car benefits from a number of highly desirable modifications resulting in impressive performance figures, whilst retaining an original look and feel. Details are as follows. Exterior -------- The magic black paint is in excellent condition, and the car suffers from virtually none of the usual problems most Corrado's have by now - stone chipping, parking dings, and rust on the arches. The paint is in great condition. Naturally there are some light scratches and a few stone chips as with any car of this age, but the paint is superb. The car is fitted with Borbet FS 16" wheels, and features In.Pro headlights, indicators and fog lamps as well as FK tail lights. The car had a new windscreen fitted in 2007 and this also seems to be in immaculate condition. It also has an uprated headlight loom and LED rear number plate lights. Interior -------- Black leather interior in good overall condition with some of the usual wear to the seat bolsters. I have fitted a Momo gear knob and leather boot and brushed steel surround. The car also has a Sony head unit and 6 CD changer in the boot and Kenwood 6x9 speakers on the parcel shelf. The instrument lights have been changed from green to red, this is however reversible. Security wise, the car is fitted with a high end Clifford alarm system as well as a number of optional extra features and will come supplied with the certificate of installation for insurance purposes, and a spare fob and keys. Engine & Running Gear --------------------- The engine benefits from a Schrick VGI manifold, Schrick 263 cams and a VF engineering stage two supercharger kit taking the car up to an impressive 319BHP and 265lb/ft of torque. This work was all completed two years ago by Stealth Racing and as you would expect no corners have been cut - the receipts for this work total nearly £7,000 alone. Included in this work was a full head overhaul, as well as timing chain and clutch replacement. In December 2011 when I bought the car I had Stealth fit a quaiffe limited slip differential and mocal oil cooler. Also they found some problems which I got them to put right. As such the car has now also a new ABS ECU and three new sensors, a new heater matrix, and new 1st/2nd gear, along with an oil change, new spark plugs, new air flow meter, jetex air filter and 4 wheel alignment. This work alone cost £3,000.00. The car also benefits from uprated Tarox discs & pads, lowered suspension and goodridge braided hoses. History ------- The previous owner had the car since (from what I can tell) approx. 2004 and the receipts from then add up to a scarcely believable £11,500 showing that this car has wanted for nothing whilst in the hands of the previous owner. There is also a full (semi VW) service history from 1998. Since owning the car I have only used shell V-Power fuel. Other Information ----------------- This is a superb Corrado in better condition than the majority of Corrado's on the market today making it an excellent buy and a cherished example. Based on the condition of the car, and the amount of work done over the last few years I feel that £6000 is a real bargin. It sailed through an MOT last June which I am happy to renew before sale and will come with 6 months tax. It's also on a personalised plate (which I have received a quote for of £400), the original plate (checking the history) is an N. I also have a MOMO steering wheel boss kit, and Painted 3 slat grille and spoiler which will come with the car. I am selling the car as I need the money for other things and cannot justify keeping it any longer.

By the way I'm putting these on ebay now as well as on here. Can anyone tell me what other cars they will fit?
-
Well not being the expert I have just read a really long and quite contentious thread from 2009 all about cams and it seems the main points are that 268's are all about mid to top end giving an extra 10 -15 bhp. Some people who have them have reported that they have noticed a difference without a re-map although it is recommended for squeezing the most from the cams and also to improve engine life. The 263s it seems can produce a higher bhp and is a smoother increase across the middle of the rev range. That said I have a Schrick VSR and 263 cams fitted to mine and it is what I would call sluggish at low revs, pretty quick through 2-3k. Then I reach about 4k and the engine seems to think that the apocalypse has come and dumps a huge steaming turd of power in my lap. I should just add that all my comments surrounding this issue are what I have gleened from other people's experiences/posts. Have a look here, unless you are Kev who got so annoyed with this thread he almost started a punch up. :D http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?42729-vr6-cams

yes! I put an ad up. looking for £450 (£465 posted)

Yes, I think I have solved the mystery, I just called Vince at Stealth and he said check the ends for part numbers. If they contain the numbers 268 then they are the Schricks. And they do, so it seems they are! Happy days!
-
Incidentally there are no VW markings on them anywhere.

My VR came with a box off stuff, among which was a pair of cam shafts. I was told that the car was fitted with schrick 268 Cams. On further inspection of the history, whilst Stealth did fit these, there is a later invoice which includes supply and fit of SP 263 Cams. So the question is how can I be sure that the spare set I have are the Shrick 268s?

Just bought this from KUR2Y and have to say its improved night time driving no end. Defo recommended! Plus I'd like to say a huge thanks for all the help when one of the relays died. No quibble, just sent me a new one which cured the problem. Couldn't ask for better service! Cheers.

Its the carbon effect Pitstop.

Does Audioscape still exist and are they still making these. If I buy decent speakers will the door pods really make a big difference?

I just wanted to put these pics up that I found of my old VR interior. I know some people are interested in changing the tired looking standard handbrake but not sure how to go about it. There isn't a lot of space for much in the way of modification so reluctantly I decided to cut into the handbrake centre tunnel to allow the wider MOMO handbrake to fit. I then slid the MOMO leather gaiter over the handbrake, refitted the handbrake tunnel and fitted the handle. Despite being very careful when cutting I was still left with a gaping hole in the plastic which I never did anything about and didn't look too bad and wasn't really that noticeable. I just felt it was far from the perfect solution. If I decide to do this in my new car I may well try to figure out a solution for covering the holes made. Or if anyone has any good ideas feel free to post them up.
-
ah ok, I was thinking that may be the case that's great thanks!
-
Does anyone know where I can get these? VW don't seem to stock them as an independent part.

Here are some pics now i've worked out how to do it!
