The front lighting on my Corrado has always been crap, and this time of the year its always pitch black driving home so they seem even more apparent anyway i decided to have a look at the bulbs tonight and the wiring to see if there was anything obviousley wrong; in short only 1 of the 3 bulbs in each headlight is working the main bulb seems to operate the side light (1 click), main beam (2 click) and high beam (pull back on left handle) surely this isnt right, as there is 3 bulbs in each headlight anyone able to shed some light on this??? regards, Chris

Looking for sensible suggestions as to what i can expect to get for my Corrado. Briefly; 1989 G reg 1800 16v with 100,700 miles 10 Service stamps in book (8 are VAG) I got the car on 03/03/04 with 89,000 miles and have changed the oil & filter every 6000 miles since. I had the cam belt kit changed at 92030 miles by a friend. Car is standard apart from; 7x15" ABS alloys with Goodyear Eagle F1 tyres (rears brand new) Powerflow stainless steel backbox I have looked after the car very well. Oil is checked religiously. Servicing has always been carried out when needed. I am getting a company car within the next 2 months so i cant see me using the Corrado much then so im looking to get rid of it in the near future. Based on the prices of other Corrado's and the condition they seem to be in, im looking for £1500 for mine. I feel the car is worth this based on its condition and comprehensive history. Check out the photos below and let me know your thoughts If i've missed out any information or such, drop me a mail http://myweb.tiscali.co.uk/corrado16v/ cheers Chris

sell it to him and cash his cheque then dont 'send' the car :-P

-
lol cant believe they were ever that much!

Yeh thats another thing, dont just buy a new belt, buy a kit this includes a new tensioner if you fit a new belt and leave the old tensioner on, that could go and take the belt and head with it !

# i can see clearly now.. :)

i didnt update this to see if it was repairable.. i wanted to confirm it where it had snapped off

I need a new drivers side door handle for my '89 G reg 16v i have been offered one from a J reg G60.. will it fit mine? cheers chris
-
bump
-
you must be mad if your willing to run the risk. from what ive heard, if the belt goes on the 1800 16v (i have 1) then the entire head is going to go as well. only costs about £100 so go do it !! :-P

Edited Tues night.. This part has snapped off somewhere inside my door, be it the handle, the mechanism, or somewhere else the door handle no longer opens the door when pulled i visited a breakers yard (VW Sandburn) and they have said its off the door handle BUT i removed the door handle and there is no apparent breakage on any part of it where has the broken part come from? cheers chris

I got one in the end, from a mercedes perfect fit and looks neat
-
result: got it all back in today there is 2 little plastic runners that need to slot in first before you put it all in it now sits properly and it all fits smooth in the dash :)
-
i removed the bits of the dash that sit infront of the speedo dial as i was changing my bulbs in the dashboard the bits are: -the plastic box that holds the dials -the clear plastic screen/box that sits in front of them -the black slide in tray i have put them all back in, but the last item, the tray, sits too far out from the dash and cannot be screwed in its quite hard to explain i guess, but its never gone back together properly since i removed it all and i cant see why not if you need a photo to clear the situation up i can post one cheers in advance chris

Can a severley drilled airbox bring the MPG right down on a G reg 16v Corrado ? My MPG never seems to get about 26mpg even when i drive at 50mph My airbox is half missing through drilling and it sounds great but the MPG is a bit annoying ideas.. ?
