  1. thanks for the fast responses, its not my set-up in the pic, its a pic i found on here, its too cold, dark and wet outiside to be taking pictures under the car. so you guys reckon its not the housing but maybe the seal. Im pretty sure its not leaking from the seam but from plastic collar. Is it also worth replacing the strainer while i've got the pump out or can that just be cleaned? Is the seal I need part number N 902 238 02?
  2. Hi, My car has failed its MOT because of a leak from the "fuel pump area". I have taken a look under the car and it is dripping a very small amount from the yellow circle below. It looks like its originating from the red circle. Am i right in thinking that I need to order a new fuel pump case (vag part 535 201 043). From looking at the case its gonna be a pig of a job to do, all the screws and fuel line bolts are corroded. Think im gonna be needing lots of plusgas and patience.
  3. try some silicone grease spary on the window guides, worked quite well for mine
  4. Hi, Searched the forum but cant find any info about these wishbones. Is that because they are rubbish? They are being sold pretty cheap on ebay (wishbone, front and rear bush and ball joint for £22)and was wondering if anybody had any experience with these or if i should stay well clear. Thanks, Yash
  5. had a massive puddle in my car yesterday too. water was leaking in on the A-pillar side of the windscreen, past the fusebox  Had the windscreen replaced last year by RAC autowindscreens, so it looks like it hasnt been sealed properly. spoke to them today and i have to take it back in. I just hope its the windscreen seal letting water in and not anything else.
  6. What have you guys done about converting the green ring around the lighter. I have read that it can be swapped for a red one out of a seat. Is it possible to get a blue one?
  7. Clifford are great for added features. I Agree with dinkus, whatever you go for make sure you get it fitted by a recommended fitter I have got a toad on the golf and a clifford on the rado. The toad was fitted by someone I know and he did a terrific job, never had any problems. The clifford on the other hand was on the car when I bought it and gave me grief straight away, I sorted the problems but the wiring still doesnt look great. It would be disrespectfull to chimps to say it looks like they have done it as i'm sure chimps would have done a much better job!!
  8. Baz2004, were you able to test the sensor?
  9. Sorry to hijack this thread but funnily enough this problem started on my rado this weekend. From reading posts on here it seems that the sensor in the header trank cant be replaced (correct me if i'm wrong) so think the header tank will need to be replaced. £14.50 from GSF or £7.88 from ECP,isnt too bad but seeing as cymru-corrado has said GSF ones have dodgy sensors may have to go to the stealers. Anyone know how much they are from VAG? Anyone have any experience of the ECP ones or are they the same as GSF?
  10. Thanks for the info Kev, i may go for the Silkolene unless someone has something bad to say about it. Will post up my thoughts once i've replaced the oil.
  11. Blue_Joe, I will be propbably be buying either one of them from Oilman as his site has both on offer at the mo, unless I can find MT90 at the same sort of price. Thanks for the input kongo127, so far MT 90 does sound like the one to go for. Anybody else? It would be good to know other corrado owners thoughts/experiences with Motul and Silkolene.
  12. After reading various posts i am still none the wiser as to which gear oil I should purchase. I've heard good things about the Motul as well as the Silkolene. Redline MT90 also seems to be highly rated when mixed with slick 50 gear additive. So what your opinion/experience? Thanks, Yash
  13. I didnt think you could fit the ABF bottom end to a KR head? Thought only 6a and 9a bottoms ends would fit? Is your mate running the standard k-jet injection to get 183bhp?

    Blowing Fuse 22

Had the auto electrician round on sat and found out that the passengers side sunvisor mirror light was causing the fuse to blow. The live wire had worn away and was touching the earth inside the sunvisor. He said its not something hes seen before, just my luck. Went to VW £98 for new sunvisor. Think ill be trying to fix it.
  15. Dont buy one from Big Boys Toys. They dont fit Momo wheels properly, (well it doesnt fit mine properly anyway).

    Blowing Fuse 22

Thanks for the input Gavin. The wire from the light to the alarm is ok; I think it is earth anyway. (Correct me if I’m wrong) Don’t know what the alarm is telling me. Is goes off so many times I think it thinks everything and anything is triggering it. I hate Cliffords. I’ve got a toad ai606 on my golf and haven’t had any problems with it. No work has been done on the car and as far as I can see there aren’t any trapped cables. I’ve got most of the interior out at the moment so trying to find it has been made a bit easier but I think the problem could be behind the fuse box or behind the boot side carpet. Looked behind there but couldn’t see anything wrong, will have to take a proper look. I've got a multi-meter so will try using that, otherwise ill have to call an auto electrician. The other thing is the rear window wiper seems to have stopped working since sounds alarming took a look at it. Fuse isn’t blown so don’t know what’s wrong with that. Am I right in thinking the rear wiper has a perm live, earth and a live when u press the stalk. Had the meter on it and I'm only getting a constant live. One wire doesn’t have anything (im guessing earth as its brown) and the other wire also doesn’t have any power.

    Blowing Fuse 22

Yeah, pulled the light out, still blowing the fuse. cheers for the input tho. searched loads of posts and this doesnt seem to have come up before.
  18. Hi, Now i've had this problem since i bought the car but this weekend i decided to sort it out. Previously when i put fuse 22 in it occasionally set off my alarm and when it when it went off there was no way to turn it off, pressing the button on the fob wont switch it off, it will switch its self off when it feels to.(clifford concept 300) so i decided to leave the fuse out until i had the money to look at it. (alarm works fine with fuse removed) So this weekend i took it to sounds alarming in wallington for them to look at, however, when they put the fuse in it blew straight away. so we disconnected, the boot light, interior lights, mfa and cigarette lighter and it still blew. So they told me to take it to an auto electrician as they dont know wat it could be Anyone know wat could be causing this? I think it could be the boot light because if u connect the two wires to the boot light the alarm is reading the boot as being open but if you disconnect one of the wires from the boot light the alarm is reading the boot as shut. would this mean that the live cable is touching the body somewhere? Would like to sort this myself as its really frustrating and dont really want to shell out £50ph for an auto electrician to look at it. The car has got an electric sunroof, mirrors and windows and these are all working ok. windows are a bit slow but think thats due to age. Thanks, yash

    Heater Matrix

Done my heater matrix last saturday and sunday, it takes ages (took me 10 hours, but I've never done it before) but isnt too difficult, just time consuming, its good to get the dash out tho, gives you a chance to clean everything behind and tidy up the wires.
  22. Off topic but, flusted, have you noticed much difference from fitting the VSAM, wouldnt mind one of these.

    Sebring backbox?

I have a Sebring on my golf, its fairly old now, at least 6 years, its still perfect, it is a bit loud but it replaced the two boxes on the back of my golf. If you are going to fit a middle box with it it’ll probably be a lot quieter.
  24. Could be the ISV, fuel pump or WUR on the way out, also check that the top of the airbox is fully secured to the air box. If too much air is getting in through there the car wont idle.
  25. Received my lights, thanks Tempest
