  1. when the fuse went for my mirrors the central locking also stopped working, same loom in my car for some reason. No its not on the fuse box, it sits just on top of it, its on its own llom.
  2. have a look above the relays, my c is a 1990, its just a standard blade fuse, if its not there then check for blown fuses in the fuse box. My owners manual didnt show the mirror fuse as being above the fuse box.
  3. You can get the seal from the stealers, i bought one the other week as I have the same problem, just havent got round to fitting it yet. Hopefully that will fix it.
  4. try the fuse that sits just above the fuse box
  5. Thanks for the input. Gonna go down GSF at lunchtime and get the parts luckily GSF is a 2 minute drive from where i work. Euros is close to about 10 mins, my office is in the perfect location for C owners seeing as parts are always needing replacing.
  6. cheers henny, Its 100 labour only, have to buy the parts myself.
  7. i'm paying £100 for cam belt and water pump but then hes our local friendly mechanic. Henny, do u think its not worth me replacing the cam chains then? Just dont wanna do any major damage to the engine by not replacing them. Any other suggestions as to what else is worth doing at the same time?
  8. Hi, Not sure if i'm posting this in the right area but..........I'm getting the water pump on 1.8 16V replaced next tuesday, at the same time i've asked the mechanic to change the cam belt and cam belt tensioner. I'll also be buying a new power steering belt and alternator belt, my question is what other parts should i get replaced at the same time. I've got a good mechanic but he's not a corrado specialist so he doesnt know what other parts are prone to wearing out that I might as well replace now. Any help much appreciated. Thanks, Yash
  9. I think £150 is ok for a custom box seeing as a standard sub box is around £50. well good luck...............i know boot builds are a mission.
  10. thanks for the info kev, im still interested, be good to see wat it looks like in ur car. any idea wen urs will be ready?
  11. Kev, will these boxes be tuned just for the 11" sub? I know wat ur saying about it taking up too much boot space, but my current cabinet takes the majority of the boot so anything slightly smaller would be a great improvement. What materials do they use to make the enclosures?
  12. Im in depending on price. Will these be custom made to fit any sub that we specify or will the cubic feet of the box be a standard amount? The reason i ask is because i've got a 15" sub, which needs a big enclosure. The one in the MK2 looks :thumbleft:
  13. GSF, even cheaper,

    Corrado's Leaking

Firstly check that there arent any leaves and other debris under the front scuttle cover (where the wiper motor is), if the drainage holes are blocked the water will be entering the car.
  15. I had this problem on my C, horn only worked when i turned the wheel to the right. I took the steering wheel off and bent the metal contact outwards (towards the steering wheel) a bit more. its fine now.
  16. I'd be interested in a set depending on when u'd need the money by...............
  17. damn!!!!!!!!!!!!! That looks good. 8) How long did it take?
  18. CheersH100VW, ill take another look at it tonight when i get home, just worried about driving it incase i do any damge to it.
  19. I've been reading other posts on this subject for the last hour and im still not too sure what the problem is. Heres the background, changed the coolant about three weeks ago, that went fine, no airlocks, followed the advice from members on here and refilled the rad through the top hose. havent had any problems since. Last night on the way back from work i noticed steam coming from the bonnet, the coolant temp was reading around 90. i pulled over popped the bonnet and a fair amount of steam was pouring out. So i called the AA, they turned up in 20 mins (was quite impressed), managed to find the problem, the rad top hose had a split on the engine end of it. Repaired the split, put it back on and then filled up the expansion tank with water. (I forgot to tell him to top up the rad through the top hose), we left the expansion tank cap off to get rid of any airlocks, after 5 mins the expansion tank was overflowing and spitting, a lot more then i would expect an airlock to create. We had a look at the oil, thats very clean, theres no oil in the coolant, the AA man done the carbon dioxide test thing and that didnt suggest head gasket failure. So we left the engine for a few mins topped up with water again and tried restarting. as soon as the temp hit around 90 the water level was rising and dropping and then starting to overflow and spit, there was a lot of white smoke coming out of the exhaust but it was cold last night so it could be condensation. ended up having to get the car towed as we were confused as to what was making the coolant bahave like this. Anybody got any ideas, i know if the head gasket has gone, gasses will be in the coolant making this occur but it didnt show up on the test and the oil and coolant are clean and the car is idling fine.
  20. I have a similar problem, except the speedo works but the mileage counter works when it feels too, it seems to only work once the engine is really warm, the mfa has died now as well. Think its time i bought some new clocks. :(
  21. cheers, ill take another look on friday, i thought it was the contacts, but when i took the wheel off the contacts looked ok, so what do you do if u have worn contacts? Anybody got any idea where you can pick new ones up from? thanks
  22. My horn only works when I turn the wheel to the right, tried cleaning the contacts but that made no difference, think it could be the pad on the steering wheel, anyone got any other ideas??
  23. thanks for the help, will have a look at it over the weekend and try and get it sorted as its going through so much petrol at the moment
  24. Thanks for the responses, think ill just replace the 2 seals, do you have to remove the fuel pipe going into the injector before you can pull the injector out or can you pull the injector out with the fuel pipe attached?
  25. Hi, I've got a pool of petrol around where the 1st injector goes into to the head, im guessing its one of the injector seals that is worn, reading other threads it would seem that I need the following parts: 1. Large plastic seal 2. Brass insert 3. Orange/brown plastic tube 4. Lower injector O ring (black) 5. Upper injector O ring (green) Is this correct? The car seems to be using a lot of petol, do you think it is this that is causing the excessive consumption or is it likely to be another problem as well? Also how do you remove the injector, i dont seem to be able to find any information on this. Any help much appreciated, thanks, yashin
