Thanks clumpy. Yours give you no grief on the slave/master cylinder with the extra load then, that's good to know. Not really sure when the cylinder gets too stretched but have heard that 10 pots are a little ambitious!

They're already on - 17s. They need a refurb though. Hoping the Tarox 305's will work, probably involve a spacer would've thought. Would go larger discs but I want to keep my options open for 16s down the line. Wondering how much the 17s are contributing towards the crashy ride, primarily the Konis I guess, not sure how old they are.

Thanks Sean. Cracking pic there mate. Got quite a few plans, much of what you've got listed there actually I can't imagine how painful that was for Daren seeing a noob driving away from his house in his pride and joy, I felt so guilty! I'm pining after my own so Christ knows how he felt after a few months... bladdy weather... oh and my shifter's with Dave

Not sure what spec the 2.9 has been bored to, but I'm guessing it wasn't a heavy rebore as the unit wasn't in bad shape. Is it asking for trouble strapping a snail to it? Ta, Ross

Hiya everyone. I became the proud owner of C11 VRG back in the summer - a brilliant black VR cared for by Daren down in Hampshire for a number of years. Couldn't have asked for a better example of a car that I've been lusting over for aeons :D The mk2 scirocco set the ball rolling for me, as that was my boyhood dream for some reason! Would still love one, but thought the VR would scratch that itch. For anyone that knows this VR, it comes as quite a task to continue the love that Daren has poured over it, especially for a newbie. So first job was to build a garage, where it's now hiding from the elements. It helps that it wont be daily so I can continue preserving this modern classic like it deserves. So far I haven't done a great deal, but that'll change as the car was sold to me in a more standard spec from the show car it once was. The brakes badly need doing, so I've gone for the 280 rear conversion (I'll only do 6k a year so replacement discs isn't an issue) and some Tarox 6 pots up front that'll hopefully sit behind the RX2s nicely :) I've changed all the lenses upfront as they were pitted and a little tired (must recommend Mecatechnic for the nearside headlight lens, I know it's RHD but I'll blag that). Anyways, I've probably bleated on too long for a first post. This forum has given me an amazing insight, so hats off to everyone who contributes; it's given me many an hour of chin stroking and laugh out loud good times :) Bring on the summer shows, hopefully see some of you there :) Ross
