  1. Evening comrades. I've seen http://www.biggred.co.uk/brake-calipers mentioned on here a fair bit, can anyone shed any light on which mk4 set I need for the rears? There's a squillion different ones (some without much info) and I'm pretty sure if I ring 'em they'll point me in the direction of corrado ones. I've got the 280mm set up but I believe the depth is exactly the same so that shouldn't make any odds. They're sticking like buggery now :mad2: Thanks in advance.
  2. Wheels 'trued', v2s slapped on, full alignment with vinny (old camber -2.5deg :| ) - now I understand the high praise re the handling. Wow. Got Vince to cart out his vagcom whilst I was there as the C had been feeling a little flat - nadgered camshaft sensor. Replaced that today and what a difference. Happy boy and a productive few weeks with various other tweaks n'all. Next - brakes... and biguns.
  3. From my experience this set-up can't handle the nightbreakers - the inline fuse will pop on full beam. That 3rd relay is sorely needed.
  4. Bliddy hell I wish I'd've never opened that link... it's only located in my very own poxy town! Aghhhhhhhhhh!
  5. Hahaha... could always give it the slipper if it acts up
  6. Does this unit have sat-nav? I was in the market for the clarion but might be swayed... then again amazon have something called a Pumpkin (wtf) with all the bells and whistles and a natty little micro sd slot so you don't have to cart around ya iPod. Hmmm.
  7. Thanks mate, that's really helpful. My koni's are so crashy its untrue. Just had the rx2s looked at and two of them were like eggs. It's not even slammed. V2s I'd i can find someone to supply only. Ta
  8. TBH it is my own fault for not getting under there sooner. the KW's have been on for about 5 years I think but ive only recently got myself a house with a drive & a jack, tools & torque wrench etc Blimey they've come up like new hey, nice work :] So if they've been on 5 years it's safe to say they they're the danglies then? Totally fed up with my koni contraptions now and as soon as I can find a shop to deal with I 'm thinking the V2s. Great to have your insight.
  9. I just disconnected the outlet, twisted it up and played with the throttle. You could see the internal mechanism flopping about with as much conviction as a T rex striking a match.
  10. I had similar-ish problems (the problem seemed to occur mostly within the first 20 mins). I started by replacing the ISV, looked for air leaks... all the usual culprits and it turned out the "new" £40 ISV from fleabay was kaput. Cleaned up the original ISV with carb cleaner, slung it back in and away it went. Thought it worth a mention.
  11. I'll go for the non-chassis hole route please; never really had a problem with the route my current loom takes. Chars matey
  12. Fook yeh! Make a nice valentine's gift for the ol girl then. Ahem. I don't do that.
  13. Looking great. In fact I took my RX2s off this morning to drop off monday. Never really understood why you commonly see the words 'never refurbed or split' in ads, surely if it's been meticulously done i.e., no filler or ground down it doesn't really matter?
  14. Still definately interested! Stick us down matey
  15. Yeh, the 2 cored yellow plug that's actually mounted to the fender. Tbh, I've no idea of its function but connected it prevented the lights from working 100%. Mate thought they were ballasts (bugger knows). A male to male blanking connector (if such a thing exists) would be triffic, assuming that is, mine isn't playing silly buggers and you're not supposed to disconnect it.
  16. I'm way too excited by all of this hahaha. Just 2 things: any idea how it'll be mounted? As my current one's mounted on the rad support near the battery and looks a dogs dinner. And 2, can anything be done about the yellow ballasts? I've just disconnected them at the minute and they just flop about.
  17. Yep, think they're nightbreakers. Really not amusing when they suddenly go, especially when you've got ya nan in the back coming back from the hosp!
  18. The blade fuses keep on popping (mainly the full beam side thankfully)
  19. Yep, I'd be interested. I bought the rayne automotive one last year and I've had nothing but ballache with it.
  20. Ah scheisse. Maybe a dose of hairdryer/airing cupboard will suss it mate, easy just to plug it in dry in a couple of days to test hey. Cheers for the heads up though - think I'll go down the full flush, drain, t'stat, sender route. HNY bud.
  21. How?! I'm fresh out of vino and I'm at a loose end! Na, tbh this job's coming up so it could be useful and perhaps for others too.
  22. Yep, I'll go for these matey. Oh and the plug tool as well
  23. Charming little bleeder hey. Well first off I don't think he's being especially jobsworth, quite diligent really. If there's no substitute but to use it then it's always going to be a blag, and whether he's willing to work with it. I'd be tempted to find an identically sized/flued burner online and extract the info from it. That way you could accurately determine input, ventilation requirements etc. Of course the flue flow/spillage tests would have to be bob-on. You could even get a data plate from ebay and draw it up. Oh and input/combustion tests are always made in 'worst case scenario' so if it states the upper limit you just use that. I am a gas safe engineer but not hetas so he holds the cards NOT ME!
  24. What about the moon paedo from John Lewis??
