Hey Lee. I was just going over your PVW feature once more. You are running 225/35-17 tires on the rear. Where did you get these? Here in the USA, http://www.tirerack.com and http://www.tires.com do not carry the size. Thanks.

I can understand that, but its the height that throws me for a loop. The lower portion, not Carbon-fibre, looks like the stock lower trim, in the stock place. And that piece sits a mere couple centimeters from the tranny tunnel. So to conventionally mount an MS shifter, would mean it would sit alot higher....yes? As in this mk4(?), I dont like all the exposed stuff...looks unfinished...which from a racing point of view is fine, but daily driving, I like a cleaner look.

I have always loved the look of these motorsports-style shifters but have always had a couple questions sitting in the back of my head about them. First off, is there any performance benefit to them? Sure they look great, but is shifting more direct/positive? maybe slightly less notchy? can they work on a daily driver? And secondly, how do they mount? I just finished flipping through my PVW archives (some 100 issues) and it appears that the majority of people mount it on top of the transmission tunnel. This is fine, as I believe Stroeve sells a shorter shifter for their product. But then I come to JD Engineering's Corrado, and JD mounted his seemingly in the tranny tunnel, possibly replacing the stock shifter box all together. So any one know? 24V Renshaw - 24V V6 - Just read the whole thread!!!!

Much like RS VR6, Im going to have to wait for my PVW as well. But much like Lee's car, this is another that definitely warrants a feature. Props to my fellow corrado owners across the pond for building feature worthy Corrados. -
prefer this forum over Vortex I see ;) We all do...because everyone here is full of compliments and suggestions. Not my style, but definitely a hot car nonetheless.

Ahh, yes, the trigger wheel...I believe mine is broken, as Im pretty sure im still throwing a cam sensor code, but I have a new sensor in there. Im reluctant to take my valve cover off though. Something you might also want to consider is doing some thermal management on the Schrick. One member from VWvortex got some very amazing results with the following work. 1) Ceramic Coating the underside (valve cover side) 2) Heat-emmisive coating the top 3) air-flow aid on the inside of the manifold. I will find the thread, but if I recall correctly, he made a max of 20hp and 40tq to the WHEELS over stock. This was combined with 268cams I believe.

So Lee...you drive this on the regular? I figured as much, going by PVW's shot of ure brakes...they look used ;) Awesome car...one of my favorites of all time.
-
I like the way the rear headrests were done... Havent decided on the humpless rear though...
-
Its a pain when doing anything on vortex.... A pitty one always has to make disclaimers... I think im going to hang out here more often :) As per people's request, does anyone have pictures of the tan ones against the tan leather?

The knee bar is one of the many safety regulations that we have... Apparently it is supposed to either protect your knees in the result of an accident, or to prevent you from sliding under the dash, or a combination of the 2. I dont get it....and personally, I would love the parcel trays, but unfortunately what you see in the pictures covers a metal bar that runs across the width of the car and the dash is notched for it. On the passenger side, a small hole can be seen if I were to keep my dash with the parcel trays. Here is the thread in Vortex: http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=2087830

I have no problems sporting a Demo Set ;) Kev, can you post some pictures of them installed? Audioscape's pictures are a bit small.
-
Thats the problem....Vortex is full of people who want something for nothing. And it doesnt seem to matter if the quality is top notch. I will post for interest and then post back here, Kev.
-
How much would they cost, and then, how many people would you need to get in on it?
-
None are my car, but all have them...gives you an idea.

seems like this fell to the bottom, unless the other locked GB thread was what resulted from this. Someone who has these might be able to help me...do these extend much higher up the door panel than stock ones? specifically late interior. And then, at the top of the pod, do they project farther out from the door than stock? I ask because Im from the US, and have the knee bars, and would love to buy these, if they clear.
-
Heres the status now....several months later. Motor is done and in, everything runs. Paint is done, almost. Wet sanding and buffing to happen in a couple weeks. Car has already left the shop and is not in my garage, covered. Interior is not in though...only front seats :) But I cant give it to you guys all at once, can I? :-P All in due time my friends.

Is your radio spot now a double-din? If so, I would recommend the following unit. http://www.crutchfield.com/S-IZJ9vISmwo ... DX7015+DVD -

Another option is the same seat as Lee has, Recaro SRDs, but getting Wedge mounting brackets. Front to back motion is retained, but after modifying the brackets (which you have to do either way) i think you will get them low enough. I am almost 6-1, with long legs, and I have yet to have someone that sat in them to think they were cramped. When properly setup, those brackets might yeild about 1" lower height that the power brackets Lee used. -

those tails look better than I thought they would. Clean!!!!

I like the brakes man. And your car is in the October issue of TheGolf+. Congrats on the feature!!! Evidently, this is pre Brembos and pre Keskins.

like ure car on vortex, like ure car here...though I think the sagging of the reiger grille takes a bit away...have you thought about a plain plain badgeless? maybe adding a kamei or mattig grille spoiler to that? Either way, your car is hot...I wish I could go that low on NY roads...oh well...and yeah, which cage you running? -Krazee
