Brakes are in, everything except the rear rotors. I test fitted everything on my 16" RS4 replicas and we're good to go. It all fits! YAY! I will post pics tomorrow

After Accident....car ran a red light and I hit him :( His fault...insurance pay out enabled me to pick up another red VR 6 days later. I dont have pics of the new one yet, but its a red VR, black leather, 137k miles, bought it from the second owner. For a 137k, it only threw 1 VAG code, an ABS sensor. Replaced that and everything is running great :) The bad part about my old car is that 2 weeks before accident I had installed 263 cams, 268 chip, and ported TB....and best part, the wheels you see (16" RS4 replicas) were only on my car for 15hrs. A shame. Plans abound from the new one. Next week it goes in for paint and the motor gets shipped out for a rebuild...being done by yellowslc...he posted his sick project on here. Here is something to get y'all started :lol: Custom Brakes: FRONTS REARS MORE TO COME!!!!!!

I think the RHs look better than the RSs....they give the car a more aggressive and purposeful appearance. Nice :thumbleft:

Do you have a link to this thread? I think the harder part of the swap would be getting the plain fan controls, without the holes for the buttons above the cig-lighter. One of my friends, part of my club CCNYC, he has a 95 Canadian that he imported to the US. Hes got the black cloth recaros. I have SRDs in my car, and i got so used to them, that I found the cloth Recaros lacking in thigh support :lol:

sweet car!!! Yet another corrado iteration. This is the first time im seeing the norm/max buttons next to the steering wheel, and frankly, I prefer that to the buttons a-top the cigarette lighter. I doubt this would be something easy to swap, especially considering im LHD. Oh and on this side of the pond, 95 Canadian models got the headlight washers and heated cloth Recaros....quite similar to your car.

EDIT: As far as interior goes....I recommed trimming the dash is leather, as opposed to alcantara...seen it done both ways, upclose and personal, and think the leather is nicer. Headliner will look sweet in alcantara, but maybe leather on the other trims bits? Then if the seats and panels are done to mimic something like the latest S4 (alcantara in the center) I think that will be pimp. Im still shocked....

Sorry for bringing this back from the dead, but I found this thread in searching for Azev wheels. How is it possible that it clears a G60 but not a VR6? while the stock off sets are different, isnt everything about the brakes the same? calipers and rotor dimensions (save for bolt pattern)? Im looking into getting a set and having a lovely time (sarcasm) doing so here in the US.

HENNY: Are those the 11" Mk4 rears? Are those vented items?

We have a 6000mile and an 8000mile Corrado here in the US :-P But thats one of the sickest I've ever seen. Very nicely done.

If you can find them, I highly recommend SACHS Coilovers. Softer ride than H&R coilovers more controlled than H&R Sport springs/Koni adjustables....and alot smoother than H&R Race/Bilstein Sports. I cant compare them to anything else though. :(

those brakes fit under standard speedlines and BBS....not sure about the Stroms' Solitudes though. I have those brakes on my VR6....very good stoping power.

In my opinion, Anything more than 1 10" is overkill in a Corrado. You might agree if you hear an other wise stock system with a Basslink hooked up.

Kev, are you refering to first gears or final drives? Final drives here are 3:39 for the VR golf/Jetta (vento) and 3:65 for the SLC/VR6 (US/Canadian). All the Golf people want the Corrado final, and all the Corrado people want the Golf final. The 3:39 final will allow a VR to hold gearing longer and also drop the revs lower in 5th (better fuel economy). So this makes sense with ure extra 12hp on us, as that makes up for the slightly slower acceleration. Im still not sure on the idea that VR6 1st and 2nd is the same as G60. The final drive would not affect the gearing that much. 3:39 compared to the 3:65 only changes the mph per gear by 2-3mph (lower with 3:65). In another thread someone swaped VR 1 and 2 in and kept G60 3-5. Kinda proves what Im wondering about.

Really? You sure? I dont think the final drive would make a 20mph difference. I dont know, so im open to an education. you can hit 40mph in first with the VR6.
