  1. That def helps man, I forgot to mention a new clutch and shortshifter was installed by the previous owner... Also he said he put all new mounts in accept for the front engine mount which " looked fine" He gave me an extra he had bought but never got around to replacing it though. I Was just looking under the little boot thing, and then looked at a picture I saw in an old bentley print out and it looks like the ....I think its torsion spring is not there and the pivot stud has a hook on the metal part the spring connects to, is this normal? here is a pic ps, I have no idea where the gearbox is ;P
  2. I have a similar problem...Its amazingly hard to get out of reverse, most of the geras take alot of wiggling to get into and out of especially first and reverse though. Where exactly under the bonnet am I looking for fluid ~_^ im a newb, where is the gearbox? Anyone have a picture?
  3. Car isn't starting right...when I turn the key it doesn't do anything makes no noise for a while, then you can hear it trying to start and after a bit it will kick in.... I have no idea what it is, I thought it was the battery, previous owner said the battery would be dead if you left it there for a week or so without starting the car up.
  4. Ya I pretty much am trying to buy a black dash, well actually the whole console, shifter housing e brake housing etc etc. Also need the door handles... Friend of mine is able to get oem parts pretty cheap, I just have to get the part numbers...if anyone can help =P Would be super super helpful
  5. Insurance is alot for me...im in the states though. If your G60 is taken care of you should be able to use it as a daily driver np. Wouldn't hurt to have a bus pass though ;P

  9. actually I was thinking about doing that :D great minds think alike I suppose! Dont worry, I wanted that orange out of the inside from the moment I saw it! Humm, sucks about the paint remover...what about brake fluid? could that or any other type of thing work or do I need to sand/prime/paint? oh and dan, its a rfont valence, or bodykit type thing from the front..

I just can't afford it right now unless I did it myself =P and as much as I want to im not sure how hard it is. Ive heard horror stories. Guy I bought the car from was really nice, he gave me all his spare G60 parts, extra working intercooler, alternator, shifter, exhaust manifold...bunch of other stuff he had thrown in his garage, he needed to clear it out to work on his air cooled beetle ;P I said I would take it all
  11. I was actually wondering about how hard it is to diy the charger rebuild... I'm not exactly a mechanic Just did my first oil and coolant change... Is it really that tough if ya have the tools?

VR6 - Faster stock, upgrades cost a good bit, but if your willing to spend the cash it beats a modded G60 in regards to speed G60 - Really tuneable car, much cheaper to upgrade then a Vr6, can be faster then a stock VR6 for very little I never noticed a diff in handling with the Vr6 and g60 better or worse on either car, course the suspension wasn't stock in either car Oh ya I think the G60 sounds awesome, nothing like the Vrrr of that little charger. I got a G60, no real reason other then it was a corrado and would cost less to mod, well that and the supercharger noise kind of sold me..

Ok, when I pull the stalk and hear the click the blue light flashes on for a sec and the lights get way brighter, as soon as I let go of the stalk the lights get much dimmer and the blue light goes off. This is with the light switch on dipped beam. With that said when I hear the clicking noise the side light comes on with the dipped beam, but it is still nowhere as bright as when im holding the stalk. I dont know if that is normal or not, im new to cars here, sorry if im being irritating or not explaining the problem very well.

    Humm alright, I talked to the previous owner of the car and apparently he put some "preston" coolant or something in the car. I know I need to drain all that out but im not to sure as to how. Does anyone know where I could find a guide on how to do that?
  20. 1) works 2) works 3) When I pull the stalk towards me with the headlamps on the blue light never stays on it comes on for a second while im holding the stalk then turns off, but an extra set of lights come on in the front after I hear the click( I guess the side lights turn on as well as the dipped beam). Blue light still stays off though and the lights are nowhere as bright as when im holding the stalk

    I bought G11 coolant from the dealership the guy said there was no such thing as G12+.. Anyway is there any way I can tell what kind of coolant is in my car already? Does it differ by color or something? This will be my first time trying to change my coolant , hope it isn't to hard ;P
  23. Well, the headlights will go on when I pull the stalk toward me but they just dont stay on, I was thinking I might need a new stalk.... Just not sure , was hoping someone would have more info on this
  24. When I try to put the headlights on they never stay on , no click or anything they get bright if I hold the stalk towards me but as soon as I let it go. back down to low beams. Oh ya, and I can turn my lights on without the car being on or the key being in the ignition, dunno if that is related or not. I think this is one of the reasons my battery seems to drain after a few days if I leave it plugged in
