ok cool do you think it matters that the laptop is like really old and is windows 95?

hi can someone tell me what plug adaptor i need to use vag-com?? mine is vr6 1994 (ice grey violet) there is a row of pins at the bottom and a row of pins above..... what like the code for the adaptor?

thanks for that........ there might be 2 different prolems but for sure there is something wrong with the key area .......... When i turn the key i hear a crackle and a buzz noise kinda loads ....THINK its coming from the abs light or the headlight switch............. am i supposed to have a 53 block fuse at the top of the relay on its own? is it a spare? i have 3 in total

where abouts is the crank sensor and is it hard to change?

SO WOULD I NEED THE CAR ON AND DRIVING AND IF IT HAPPENS ONLY THEN WOULD THE VAG-COM DETECT IT? OR WOULD IT DETECT IT ANY TIME AS LONG AS I TURN IT ON? HOW MUCH IS THE CRANK SENSOR?

thanks DR mat!!!!!!!!!! OK LETS TRY AND MAKE THIS ONE CLEARER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!LOL About a hour ago when after a long drive i was at the lights and it cut out dead and the leds did come on once i Restarted it as i pulled off it did that sudden off then back on JERK! the oil TeMP was at 102 and the WATER was about 100........ When this does happen you get a crackle noise from the key area!!!!

yes the revs just drop.. no leds seem to come on......... where is the crank sensor? 6 months ago after i changed the thrmo housing it first happend then it was ok til now.............while doing the thermo housing i did have trouble getting the coilpack off due to rounded allen key bolts so the colilpack n bolts took abit of a banging.....also the blue plug on the thermo housing looked warn out..... only other thing i can think of is when i put new fuel in sometimes it does that cutting out at lights but once i pull out the maf plug its all ok however 6 months back i did that and it didnt cut out!!!!!!!!! but it was ok for the last 6 months........ not to confuse the cutting out with new fuel at lights and the cutting out and turning back on while moving as it does now!!!!!!!!!

is there anyone with vag-com in north london??? also just how much does it cost? is it a lead plus software? i have a laptop i assume id need one right?

do all corrado vr6's have traction control? i was looking in the owners hand book and it shows a traction control button??? mine dont have one?

ermm well im not sure really ok you know like vr6's can cut out at the lights when the clutch is down well imagin that but while u got ur foot on the gas then it like jump starts up again.......... so as im movong i hit the gas more then big harsh shunt like hitting a wall revs vanish then it drives again.......... not sure if the electrics cut out or the fuel cuts off or what? only thing that comes close is 2 years ago one of the leads was loose n gave the same kinda kick back when pushed

how do i get vag-com? how much is it? mine is a 94 coilpack type vr6 anyone in north london got it?

im not ssure cos it happens so fast, say im at 3000 revs push the gas a lil harder then its like click revs vanish big jerk kickback then revs up again!! its random but one day it kept doing it at about 4000 rpm, obviously when that happens naturely ill ease off the gas......... i think it is something electric and not the engine........ maybe a misfire in the plug? coilpack? a couple of times when it was cold and i turned the keys to start it id hear a strange electric noise coming from the keys abs light area!!!!! maybe that connected to it? but it hasnt done that lately

ok guys got my water pump fixed!!!!!!! only other problem.....(besides needing a new winscreen, the bald tyre, the dent over my bonnet and the golf ball in my door) when im driving it jerks back like all the electrics cut out, its hash and i cant put my foot down incase it happens and da guy behind me goes straight into me, its like stalling while moveing and then jumping back on and ur foot is on the gas.......... thought it cold be the coilpack but its been dry last 2 days.......... is it the coilpack? any ideas? its a 94 vr6 by the way

yep as kev said i do have air con thats why it cost more, however its £30 at gsf........ what i did was took the vw belt to my garage n ask the guy fixing it to not fit it and get me one from gsf so i could return the main dealer one............. he got the gsf one compaired them... he told me the main dealer one is alot better, the gsf one looks like basic rubber, the main dealer on is a mix, its like rubber and cotton all sorft and fluffy........lol also the vw one has smoother teeth......... i was also told that it will make the belt almost silent and it is silent wow .......lol

yeh the belt that runs the waterpump ect............. what a con!!!!! might take it back n get one from gsf for 30 dammmmmmmmmmmmm

i just went vw main dealer and paid over 50 quid for thevr6 belt??????????

ok guys i got the other post up abouts a noise that SEEMS to be coming from my waterpump pulley...............?????????? well for the last week or so if i go down to say second gear n put my foot down when i get to 400 revs bam its kicks back big time like it turned off then back on......... like hitting a wall!!!!!!! i remeber something similer 2 years back when someone left one of the leads off ... same kinda thing happend.....but it was ok once i put it back only other problem it can have is when i put fuel in sometimes it cuts on as i come to a stop..... but then i remove n reconnect the MAF plug n its all ok........... im thinking MAF or coilpack my be the reson? maybe just a plug? maybe its over fueling as it does make that stink when its floored? maybe worse?? help

cheers mate but once i get the bolt down there will the belt just be loose, or will i be removing the tensioner?.......... i mean will it mean just a take the bolt out everything thing will be tight again? whoops put this down for the previous cheers

yep its got a lil shake going on!!!!!! wibble wobble.......... can i loosen the belt by moving the alternator like most cars or do i ave to go throu the belt tensioner?? god that sounds like a silly question!!!!!!!

what holds on the water pump pully? and i change it without removing the whole pump?

cheers for that kev just looked under the bonnet i notice tat the second big pully has a slight wobble.......... its the big one in the centre....... whats it for? whats the wrost that happens if the belf snaps or slips off??

thanks guys the sound is still there dont seem as bad today though? it could even be coming from that metal block on the rocker cover to the left, just abouve the alternator? whats under there??

cheers for that! is it true that the engine must be lifted to fit a new water pump?? aint there a cheaper easier way??
