ok not sure what this thing is but here goes i removed the pipes that go to the throttle, on the left side of the engine there is a metal block and there is a little hose joining it by plug1 i removed the plastic hose and looked in the metal hose end i noticed inside was a funny looking metal spring its a kinda bronze colour and does not look like it should be there and it looks a funny shape??? what is it?? dont think anyone will understand what im going on bout?

ummmm see i also get a nasty smell from the back so maybe the lambada is the problem? but then agian when first bought the car i noticed a spark from the ht leads so i changed them n i though it went due to the old leads being in bad condtion , then yesterday i noticed sparks coming from hole 4 thought maybe i left it loose, now i near that the coil pack would make sparks like that it its broken.... BLOODY CORRADO'S I WAIT LIKE 10 YEARS FOR ONE THEN ILL SPEND THE NEXT TEN TRYING TO GET THE THING PROBLEM FREE!!!!!! N IF THAT AINT BAD ENOUGH SUM C**T DROPPED A BIG POLE ON MY BONNET LEAVING A BIG DENT NEXT DAY I FIND ANOTHER BARE METAL SCRATCH!!!!! I CANT EVEN SAY I GOT A PERFECT PAINT JOB NOMORE!!!!!!!!!

just wondering while im on the case could the cat be something to do with the car cutting out n running low when hot? could the lambada ? 1 last thing if i was to put a cat bypass on would that make more possible problems? also as its a mot failer to have no cat would that make a problem with insurance?? ie if someone god forbid had a crash and the insurerers found there was no cat would the cover be void?? due to it not being legal?

whoops sorry the picture only just came up!! so is that on the right side or the left side of the engine bay? mine has rusty bit lol no shiny bits!! lol

well its idle is strabge so i been told to clean the isv donno what that is though?

hello fed up of the car cutting out thought i got rid of it but its back n its running even lower when hot the idle is about 5 mark so where do i find the isv Idle stablization Value. where is it?

yeah i was thinking about changing the filter might as well leave no stone unturned changed every other bnkin part!! where is the fuel filter?? is it next to the airbox or under the car at the back??

the fuel pump noise hummm buzzzzz is gettin worse as its all the time now? the noise from the inside has gone ( i did change the aux cooler but i dont think it was that..... the chicken noise what i was told by u guys was the starter motor went away for about 3 months the 3 days ago it came back but it dont sound like a chicken nomore its a crunch noise??

maybe im wrong about the speed i did a rough 0-60 and it got there in 7 secs ish! it dont burn any oil never need to refill in 5 months non at all, but i am getting the black 6 plug and the nasty smell

try looking next to the air filter box on the inner wing you might not notice it if its dirty but its a orange plastic thing with the name of the colous sound like you might ave the same colour as me? ice gray violet? looks blueish at times n at times see a pinky liac

hello i would like to know if there is anything wrong with my vr engine but im not sure best and cheapest way to find out? i know some tuning peeps can do it but alot say they would need to run a number of tests each one costing more!!! reason im worried is..... the dry black number 6 spark plug!! the nasty smell from the rear when run fast!!! and i think it might lack abit of power? it dont really kick till it gets to about 3000revs it sound abit rattlely too

hello i had the same problem with my vr6 after i changed the aux pump no its not normal temp its too high easy fix thou look down your radiator on the right side between the upper n lower hoses just above the lower hose youll see a bolt with a plug on it( the fan switch) change that n it should all be running lower temp!!!! youll need to remove the battery to get to it! try not to leave the battery off for to long as i did once or you might get other memory loss -
mine makes the cat smell all the time!! i always thought if the revs go up n its not moving with them that its the clutch slipping?

took it for a drive smoked out the whole area and some its not smoking now thank god!!!!! engine is still smoking throu hopefuly its just redex that got on the out side n its just burning off I HOPE!!!!! cheers guys!

the smoke was WHITE there was loads out of the back and alot out of the engine bay.. is it normal to come out the engine bay??

HELP!! I THINK IVE JUST KILLED MY CAR!! I HAD SOME REDEX N NOTICED YOU CAN USE IT FOR THE ENGINE by putting it in the spark plug holes and coving the holes with a cloth and turning the engine while plugs are off so i did that that and it did collect alot of the redex, anyway once i put all tyhe plugs n leads back and started the engine i got loads of smoke coming from the engine bay and loads and loads out of the exhuast WHAT ARE I DONE?? ive taken the plugs out and aint sure if ive messed up the car??? im too scared to start it now!!!! HELP!!

cheers the car dont cut out anymore, not sure why? i cleaned the air filter box and removed the dead family of wasps flies grass n crap lol also messed about with the dashpot but i did remove or ajust it.... also drove like a normal person and didnt coast to the lights nor try and save fuel by putting it in 5th at 40mph!!! so do you think im driving on 5 cyl ?? is it really bad if the number 6 plug came out black as black?? im not sure about power on the car but ive never thought my vr6 was that powerful? not sure if its just me getting used to fast cars as ive had alfaromeo GTV, golf gti mk3 and mk1 and my corrado vr6 doesnt seem much faster then the gtv changed the water bottle n cap now i can see throu it!! and there seems to be presure on the hoses as it should i guess when hot, also old on had alot of rust colour crap in it,

yep number 6 was wet looking but now its more matt black all over the others 1,2,3,4,5, look fine normal colour.....6 aint as bad as before i changed it when it was very oily black n stunk of petral the engine is abit noisy like rattles abit.. i was thinking it could be due to the overheating problem i had before now that the temp is fine i get the cutting out and a black plug? no connection then? whats n where is the dashpot?

ok could it be this ive just looked at my spark plugs and they all seem fine except for plug 6 what is very black all over and there only 2 months old, number 6 was like that before i changed them aswell?? could that be the reason for it cutting out? also could it be so dirty due to it was overheating before coz the fan switch broke?

its not a major cut off but its bad enough n so is the smell too! aint there any good vr6 manules?? whats vag-com?
